They probably won't get in the top-5 of the GC, and to the degree that they have a chance for that, it won't be affected by how much they use their doms on a stage like this one. A stage win should be possible today, and that's well worth the energy expended.

Sobrero definitely has a good chance to win the stage with the legs he's shown this week. Only problem is, you're going after two Steppers and as if catching Cavagna isn't problematic enough, you're then walking into another Stepper problem which is Schmid.

the penultimate bump (now tops with 8k to go) is 1k at 10%. So I'd be surprised, if it's a sprint big enough for Schelling, if at all.
