Or when my school held a competition to see who could carry the most footballs without their hands and I just tied the arms and hood of my sweater together and used it as a bag.

"Following the initial footage received, the decision was made to disqualify rider number 51 for 'Deviation from the race route to gain an advantage', as the images appeared to show that the rider had taken the roundabout in a manner that strayed from the signposted course.

However, after receiving and reviewing various pieces of evidence, including data from Veloviewer, the route book, and information provided by the team, it has been confirmed that all the available information indicated that the roundabout in question was supposed to be taken in the way chosen by the Cofidis team rider.

According to Article 1.2.064 of the UCI regulations, 'Riders must study the course in advance.' In this case, the rider correctly followed the planned route.

Furthermore, the advantage gained by the rider after exiting the roundabout continued to increase all the way to the finish line.

The organiser was also consulted and confirmed that there had been a signage error at that roundabout.

For all these reasons, the College of Commissaires has decided to overturn its initial decision and to validate the rider's passage over the finish line."

I can understand some of the reasoning, but the fact that his gap continued to grow should obviously not be taken into consideration since that was clearly a result of the indicent.

I would have thought they fought in the back and whoever emerged on the stage was declared the winner.

Now they need to find out if the guys who put the sign and were telling the riders to go left are connected to Aranburu.

Great stage and deserved win for Aranburu, he simply followed the roadbook.

Good defense from Schachmann but I think tomorrow will be too hard for him if the likes of Almeida and Lipowitz attack on Izua.
