He almost couldn’t hold Mathieu’s wheel when it was his turn to go. Didn’t have the kick of last year. But I still think he’s the fastest here, more chances to come.

well there goes the chances for Jasper to win the green. I think he's too far behind now on points. Disappointing.

He's still going well enough to win a stage. In saying that if we switched his run with Groenewegen's run then he probably loses by a half a bike length.

Couldn't happen to a nicer guy. May he have a lovely Tour.
While i completely agree with him getting relegated, especially since he got "a warning" the day before, i think this is quite an understandable reaction. To me it sounds like he's crying while he's shouting. He'll undoubtedly be hugely disappointed, because this very likely means he can forget about the green jersey.
What cav did yesterday was just as bad, he was also headbutting and shoving in the final 1k again, but i bet they didn't dare to relegate Cav after finally winning his 35th and breaking the record. So the blame once again falls with the jury for being very inconsistent with their ruling. But i can understand him being upset. Doesn't mean he's right.

It looked like he never got on top of his gear.

EDIT: probably a good call to relegate him, but I wonder if he was trying to chop WvA or just trying to find 'the line', while going eyeballs crossed?

I hope Jasper can win tomorrow on the gravel. I'm not sure if it's his type of terrain

Philipsen: "They won't let me endanger other people's lives, so I have to think to hard to sprint well."

Reality: When your best just isn't good enough, so you have to try to put people in the barriers, to win.

JP with the win!
...and without a leadout (from his own team).
Nice victory for sure. I think possibly since it was a hard day JP had the advantage over the other sprinters. Either that or he's starting to warm up as the tour goes on...we shall see.

JP with the win!
Team Hair Care got two wins today!
When I was a teenager there was a Saturday cartoon called the Hair Bears, LOL not the best but the animation was several Bears with Giant Afros. In the bus maybe they could have a Giant afro wig for a rider who wins. Silly Yes :D
Your reference to Team Hair Care Reminded me of that silly cartoon.
P.S. Hill Billy Bears.

There's a whole group of cycling watching veterans still suffering from the continuous TV ads of Marcel Kittel saying,
"by the way ..." :)
