I think he has a lot of potential, with the TT he showed this year, including today and his climbing ability, but he crashes way too much.

Plapp is a better ITT'er, especially on flatter courses. Unfortunately in both of the major ITT's, Plapp and Vine crashed when in medal contention.

Hopefully the fact that he was able to ride to the finish, and still end up 5th, means that it was mostly superficial wounds.

He really does. In this case he said it was a "silly mistake on a nontechnical section." I mean, sorry Jay, but wtf? He's got to be 100% focused, especially bc ITTs were his focus after the Basque Country crash (and even earlier this year in Australia).

If he can put it all together he's definitely a GT podium favorite.

"If" is doing quite some heavy lifting there. We're now at the point that the only time you hear about him, basically, is when he once again has one of his inevitable crashes. It's just ridiculous, he crashes every race, sometimes multiple times. Kelderman on steroids.

According to Vine he just got some stitches on his brow, but otherwise is okay. That man needs to be wrapped in bubble wrap even more than Roglic.

Vine shared images to his social media later in the day Sunday suggesting he came off lightly with “only” butterfly stitches to his brow.

Not sure Jay Vine should approach any any section as "nontechnical".

He's proof there's more to being a top cyclist, than just watts, VO2, w/kg, etc He/ his team should get him training on bike handling skills.......
He's the classic Zwift racer; super fitness, but no technical skills at all.......A great athlete, but poor cyclist.

He isn‘t in the pro peloton for half the year anyway. This problem fixes itself.

The thing is, Vine isn't even a "pure" e-cyclist. He even started doing XCO races back in Australia in 2015/2016/etc. and only switched from MTB to the road in 2018 or around.
