I think he only can win the Giro under the right circunstances. Vuelta is not made for him and the Tour is impossible due to Pogi and fisherman
Before yesterday I thought so to. Tdf is out of question no matter what team, but vuelta... after yesterday I'm not completely convinced he can't win a vuelta.

I don't think he can ever win any GT without the right circumstances, but I am not convinced vuelta climbs in the heat is that much worse on him than long giro climbs in the cold and rain.

We'll see 😊

Portuguese press:

João Almeida (UAE Emirates) has Covid-19, thus realizing the loss suffered by the Portuguese during the eighth stage of the Tour of Spain, between Úbeda and Carzola. A very close source said that he had been showing symptoms for three days, testing positive this Saturday.

The Caldense, fourth in this year's Tour, finished the race only in 60th, dropping to 26th overall and no longer having aspirations of fighting for the red jersey.

Abandonment is the most likely scenario for Almeida, which happens to him for the second time in his career: in 2022 he was forced to withdraw from the Giro for the same reasons.

Dang, for three days to :(
Hopefully he can build off this year and have some great form next year and focuses on the Giro for the win, otherwise he’s just going to turn into another Klöden.
