I wasn’t around back then, how good were the 2nd ITT riders to Indurain? Like really good and he was just insanity or was he really good on top of them being Pantani spec
You can't really compare it to Indurain because that was still the old school GC era where Indurain was never the best climber in the entire peloton while he was crushing ITTs.

Is French uniquely suited to accuse peopel of doping?

You don't need to speak French (or whatever language) to say or understand 'wtf' when Wout van Aert finishes 2:51 behind the winner over a 22.4km rolling, hilly ITT.

It's science-fiction & absolutely nothing could prepare any of us for what happened. Vayer has his obvious issues but even a broken clock is right twice a day.

The Russians were doping in athletics for years. They weren't crushing everyone. Doping doesn't explain this. Whatever is happening, it is much more significant than doping.

There are numerous examples of nations falling massively behind after doping revelations though. China in swimming for instance. And the US, France and Italy in cycling. Btw, Denmark also had some weak years in cycling following the cases of Riis and Rasmussen - but that has changed, as we know.

When Indurain took 3 mins in Luxembourg, Mr. Clean last rider LeMond lost 3.8s/km

Yeah, back then small thin climbers were losing to tall muscular guys in TTs. That stopped with Froome.
No one was ever able to explain why GC contenders were beating TT specialists in the third week of the TdF. And now they aren't just beating them, they are crushing them by many minutes.

Imagine Pantani beating Ullrich by minutes on a flat TT!

Or imagine a 65kg female boxer beat Tyson Fury. If the laws of physics no longer seem to be valid, no PED can explain that.

I don't know. But I do know that there are people in doping organizations that cleared Russian athletes right up to the point when it was clear that there was massive state orchestrated doping going on. So I'm not convinced that those organizations are doing all they can to find out if doping is involved.

When was it clear and what was it that ‘cleared’ it?
