Teams & Riders Jonas Vingegaard thread: Love in Iberia

Yeah, whatev...

No matter what, I don't see Pogi replying to Matteo's, let alone Simon's, attacks the way he did in 2022 with Roglic.

It was already considered a big mistake in 2022, but Pogi was 3 years younger and Rogla - arguably - still "could" have been seen as a pretty serious threat.
Cooking himself to follow Simon Yates would be just crazy: their pace isn't even supposed to be close; plus Yates isn't getting any younger either (at least Jorgenson is born in 1999, so you never know 100%).

Yup. Jorgenson is a monster domestique for all terrains and his help could be crucial but he's not someone who can rival Pog in a GT. Same with Yates. The Slovenian has to mind only Vingegaard, it's tactically as simple as that.

UAE will eliminate Yates, Kuss and Matteo in the first 2 weeks.
First week is full of punchy climbs, tailormade for Pogacar to win (at least) 30 seconds on these Visma domestiques. We also have a 33 km TT where Pogacar will probably gain 30 seconds on Matteo and 1 and half minutes on Yates and Kuss.
The bastille day is another day for punchers, a stage where Kuss and Matteo will suffer a lot to not lose more than a minute. Yes, UAE with Soler, Sivakov, Narvaez and Yates can defitenly crush those riders before Pogacar's attack (with 2 or 3 km to the finish he will not stop).
Hautacam and the MTT are also perfect for Pogacar. Seriously both Vingegaard and Pogacar are so far ahead compared to everyone else that no one can ever be a threat. I can't see Matteo, Kuss or Yates being less than 4 minutes down before Bagneres. And until there Visma will just follow UAE. I only see Visma attacking in Mont Ventoux.

This is just polit conversation by Vingegaard.

This is will be only between Vingegaard and Pogacar, mano a mano in the Tour and Vuelta.

Jorgenson, yates brothers, kuss, almeida, will be there, just to set the tempo and blown up the race.

If in PN he is getting worse or at the same level, then there could be some reason to be worried.

The plan is improving month after month until July.

The preparation has changed this year. Normally he does a 3 week altitude camp before the first race. It wasn't the case this year.

He focused during the winter on getting back the muscle mass, he looks good, there is more muscle in the thighs.

When I was thinking about Vingegaard, he may be taking a slower start. He is aiming for the Tour and La Vuelta after all.

What's more concerning is that the whole Visma teams looks...shaky.
