On Puy de Dôme, he will turn the clocks back 27 years. It will be a blast.
Consider it a preview of Oppenheimer's Trinity scene.

He's clearly peaking too early! Can you save me the trouble and tell me if you have a hot take on Vingegaard lying around here?
Nobody saw Paris Nice? He's clearly peaking too early!
Pogacar makes faces while dropping other guys😁Pogacar did exactly the same to Vingegaard in Paris-Nice... strangely, there it wasn't seen as boring. Now how could that be...
Anyone able to compare to this shorter effort by Roglic, G, and TGH?

In the Dauphine TT last year, he lost to Ethan Hayter, Mattia Cattaneo and Luke Durbridge, but still managed to find a decent level in time for the Tour.Nobody saw Paris Nice?
Vingegaard literally only trained for 8-12 minute climbs this entire season. TT was >30 minutes and he lost to Mikkel frigging Bjerg.
GC riders doing surprisingly well in GT ITTs, especially the final one, is a tale as old as time.In the Dauphine TT last year, he lost to Ethan Hayter, Mattia Cattaneo and Luke Durbridge, but still managed to find a decent level in time for the Tour.
If anyone is wondering why Vingegaard was emotional yesterday:
Danish newspaper B.T. writes today, that his wife and child is in Annecy currently (they stay there often), and the playground that got attacked is one they frequent almost daily, they just randomly decided not to go yesterday
But a bit weird he doesn't wanna say when they got married. I don't assume that was the "family situation" he had to attend to ahead of Paris-Nice.And in happier news, the fact that she's his wife is news - at least to the public - too.
The Tour isn't a monument though.I'm 90 % confident that this is what ideal prep looks like, but I also have 10 % doubt. This is Jumbo, being too good too soon is a real possibility.
I really don't think so. Besides jumbo being the best team in terms of training, Vingegaard already showed this type of performance on last year's dauphine. He is not yeat on peak shape, and clearly he wasn't full gas on croix fer, even if he won the stage.I'm 90 % confident that this is what ideal prep looks like, but I also have 10 % doubt. BS, why would the team launch him if he‘s not even going to go full gas, he‘s got to test himself before the Tour.and clearly he wasn't full gas on croix fer
Because he wanted to win the stage and seal up race, but without going full gas if possible. He has his training numbers to look at. That said, I don't think he was soft pedalling.BS, why would the team launch him if he‘s not even going to go full gas, he‘s got to test himself before the Tour.
So by how much would he have won if he had gone full gas? He gained over 40 seconds on second place in 15 minutes.Because he wanted to win the stage and seal up race, but without going full gas if possible. He has his training numbers to look at. That said, I don't think he was soft pedalling.
Besides what @Samu Cuenca said, when he goes full gas like in hautacam and granon, he makes that "suffering face".BS, why would the team launch him if he‘s not even going to go full gas, he‘s got to test himself before the Tour.
