Teams & Riders Jonas Vingegaard thread: Love in Iberia

I heard they said that they also want to challenge for the Tour victory this year. Such arrogance.
They said Vingegaard wouldn’t start last years Tour if they didn’t think he could win it. I think Visma put undue pressure on Vingegaard. Jonas’s emotional response in being comforted by Jorgensen after the Bonette stage revealed this. I don’t think they have a good grasp of humble.

I don’t think Visma intend to be arrogant but they can certainly come across that way - until they are soundly defeated at least. They were much more humble after that PdB schooling. My opinion on Jonas changed that day. I could see he executed the plan perfectly and was giving it 100% only beaten by a rampant Pog on a new level. I respect riders more for how they respond under adversity. Jonas could have given up but instead fought all the way to Nice including the final TT against the best Pogacar we have ever seen. Good for him.

Roll on the rematch of the century.

Incredible how they release a video showing how good they are only when they win.
I'm still waiting for that magical masterclass in Plateau de Beille.
Love Jonas but Visma is such an arrogant team
Another easily disproven point since there's quite a famous documentary Visma released about that one Tour de France that they most definitely did not win, after getting soundly beaten on La Planche des Belles Filles. In fact they tend to show almost everything, rain or shine. Can you say the same about, say, UAE-Emirates?

Also one about last year's loss.

"It takes months to actually gain muscle mass again and get back to the explosive values which he had last year before Tirreno-Adriatico," Heemskerk says. "That's a process where at the end of December, January, we saw values which are like normal again. Of course, you want to become better, but like I always say, when you have a crash like that, you never know how long it takes. I also have to say that we have approached it a little bit more relaxed. For instance not doing any altitude work now to have a little bit extra in reserve for summer and autumn."

Reactions: Berniece and Heston
Vingegaard will use his old cranks of 172.5 mm in Paris-Nice.

He can be on the podium but he will not have leadership. Vingegaard is the sole leader in every race he enters.
- Matteo and I are both captains here. We will try to see if we can win it as a team.

- In general, we have shown that we are good with several captains, hopefully here too. I have a really good relationship with Matteo. I am also happy if he wins the race. It is not that I am so selfish that I only want it to be I who wins and do not care about everyone else,

- I am also happy when he wins, and I will also be happy to sacrifice myself when he is in a position to win or is the strongest. It is also the other way around. He feels the same way.
