big question is, whether Vingegaard seen any means for himself to close the gap to Pogacar. Or wait for any signs Pogacar is declining / falling back to his pre 2024 level.
if not, he might as well target Giro and Vuelta next year.

Wonder if Vingegaard hasn't just been underraced these last 18 months.
Definitely could be and in addition he never really was able to jump and sustain anything. When he tried to jump in TDF and Pogacar would immediately get the wheel, almost always within seconds, not minutes Jonas would back off and often see that Pogacar was only rider not distanced by his attack efforts. In the Vuelta if he were to do similar attacks repeated daily or multiple days he will get some big gaps.. He saw that the team strategy against Pogacar for constant pressure failed, that strategy will work immediately if he tries it in Spain against UAE and Bora, shame that Remco rib cage is not 100% because that would have been a good goodbye look for Quickstep..

Now it’ll be Jesper Morkov — a Danish sports director in the car," Holm concludes. "I reckon the strategy will be more Vingegaard-friendly than it was at the Tour. For those backing Vingegaard, it’s likely to be a more Danish-aligned approach.

Jesus, what a load of cr.p. Cycling expert opinions and analysis are too clouded by nationalist sentiment.

Assuming that the translation is correct of course, which is always the question with that website.

Do you by any chance know what Danish-aligned approach means?
That's what I was wondering. What does that mean?

From what happened in past ocasions, if Visma set a death pace in the GC group right at the base of a climb, Almeida will drop and try to yoyo. Almeida is more likely to yoyo from far out, and will only try to follow an attack when he's closer to the finish line.
Ayuso will try to follow Vingegaards wheel and stay in the GC group during death paces, but is unlikely to yoyo.
They are kind of opposites in racing style.

One way or another, if Visma repeats exactly what they did in the Tour and Vingegaard is agressive, Vingegaard should take it.

Lets see how Vingegaard plays it with this Danish-alligned approach and a different DS in the car.

It's clobber time
Yes it sure is clobber time. Too scared to risk second place after saying ... Will risk it all to win tour .. de France ... But we all know that that statement and .. I showed the best numbers that I ever have .. while still losing with over 4 minutes. Yes. That is a result to be proud of. But I hope he fails at Vuelta .. he got a pass since Pog is not going to be there. I had hoped uae would have kept visma from winning anything.

It is correct. Brian Holm is a terrible expert and analyzer of bike races. Pretty bad at commentating it too. I have heard that time and time again recently. He went as far as saying Oscar Onley had better support than Jonas Vingegaard - I know, very unserious stuff that you could only laugh at. Its stage 15 over again, some Danes really did not like how Visma rode that particular day, and Holm and Riis are very vocal about it.

Now Jonas will win the Vuelta because Pogacar is not there and the conclusion from the likes of Holm would be that he was right all along.

Being denied overall victory by your own team when the win is already within reach.

The Danes have been saying this for years now: not enough support for Vingegaard, his team would rather have Van Aert win, etc. Conversely, the Belgians have been saying this about Van Aert. The Slovenians about Roglic, when he still rode for them. The Americans about Kuss in the Vuelta. It's so utterly predictable, and so dumb. Don't these people hear themselves?

The crazy thing is that by all accounts it seems like even Vingegaard's wife has started to believe the nonsense. And then some random Danish guy in the car (who I think is not even the one determining the tactics) will apparently make all the difference for Vingegaard. Sure.
