Given how he’s been riding lately, it feels like he’s mainly trying to assess the level he’ll need to win the Giro while using as little energy as possible, so he can save as much as he can for the Tour. That would also explain why the gap today was smaller than expected.

Looked very easy today. Rode them off his wheel with just a pace lift and soft-pedalling the last 400 meters.

The team was pretty bad, though. No crashes for excuses today. But getting an armchair ride to the last climb because RB has just given up on the win saved him a bit.

Yes, the team is not the force when he won. And Pog upped his game.

Gut feeling is that he's in higher level than two previous seasons, but not the level of early years 2022-23. Bit disappointed he didn't open gas fully like eyeballs out in last time up Montjuic steep wall. He seems more measured these days, the open rage of early years is missing somehow.

Hot take: Seixas to VLAB to up the game and get the best out from both, Vingo and Paul.
