Very strong today. An important contender for the Ardennes.
With Alaphilippe, Vakoc and Martin on the team, they have a great squad for the Ardennes.
Etixx wuld be the perfect team to tear both AGR and Liege apart. Not sure they'll be aggressive enought though.

I sure hope they will be aggresive. Normally Etixx is a team that likes to race aggresive, but they do have riders that can wait...

What do you think what was the reason of his "low" the 300 km training rides that are apparently burned him while he was only 22 or the fact that he had a epstein bar virus?

Re: Julian Alaphilippe

Another second place at FW which indicates punching and short, hard climbing ability like no other race. And he's only 23.

He has a solid shot at winning LBL if Ettix play their cards right.

After taking the TOC he seems to be in fine form, another top 5 today at the Dauphine. I'm curious to see what he can do at the Tour. We know that he is a superb puncheur, but we never saw him compete against the very best in the real mountains.

I'm curious too. Last year JA had such an odd run, with brilliant performances at the Ardennes and California, but then total implosions at Romandie and the Dauphiné as soon as things got slanty. I realize that Mount Baldy isn't the Alps, but the ability to drop a guy like Henao in California should translate into at least marginal climbing prowess in Europe. Maybe it was an early sign of the mono; who knows? Anyway, given that his season so far has been a carbon copy of last year's, I'm hoping that he can finally start collecting some top Euro results too.

Ala Pippo! Isn't that a great name?....

Is he a GC-rider? The Valverde-type of talent and rider, Di Luca-esque? Many questions. Glad he is selected for Le Tour, him and Martin will have to carry them through the hilly and mountainous days.

I just hope he won't go for GC yet. Would be such a waste of an exciting rider right now

People said that about Jungels as well.

Try yourself out, at least

When it comes to gts he could be similar to his teammate Dan Martin, a stagehunter in the Tour and a possible top 10 on gc in the Vuelta.

We have plenty of Mollema's as is, and I think stage hunting would be a better prep for Rio

Does Sagan have a rival for the green jersey? Unlikely, but possible if he keeps sprinting like this.

If there was no Kittel, maybe. But there is Kittel.

On this route, Kittel will have a much better chances than he has ever had in the green jersey competition. It seems its either flat or mountains. Sagan needs to win it on stage 2, Revel and Bern. Ala stands absolutely no shot at this route.

I didn't think he had this much speed. Balaphilippe, what a rider.

My post was not intended to be exclusive to this year's Tour, but any Tours in the near future. :)

Slightly overated he's not at the level of Bala in GT's nor yet in major classics only thing he's as good is sprint. To me he to limited in high mountains to win a gt, he will win a few fleche and liege but thats it, milan remo not hard enough, lombardie to hard.
