okay now I am dumbfounded.....

Of all the DS's in cycling and all the teams out there, you have decided that JV's Garmin Transitions is the only one other than Lance's radioShack that deserves a boycott?

Thats rather petty and not at all logical.

The other teams don't purport themselves to be anything but a bunch of quiet folks who race bikes. JV decided to hold the flag of clean cycling, and with that flag comes some responsibility.

Ridiculous.

What you are saying is that it is entirely sensible to punish the team that is doing the most to at least try to be clean (according to them), yet completely leave alone a number of teams that we are all fairly certain have at minimum minor programmes in place.

(remember that I am reacting to the call to boycott the team's sponsors based upon this discussion of JV. Whether JV has a responsibility or not has zero impact on the absurdity of that call)

I actually have tears in my eyes from laughing too hard. :D

I love both of my Garmin's. The Transition lenses in my Panoptx 7eyes are phenomenal.

I have not tried the pomegranate stuff yet although I will drink a pomegranate martini now and then.

I doubt if these sponsors actively support doping in cycling so I don't view them as the problem.

no, with his flag comes your unhealthy obsession with jv. and you still haven't delivered a single fact other than starting trolling threads (that got shut down) repeating the same old and stale. get ovr this dude, unless you have a serious personal case which looks increasingly probable given your posting obsession.

Precisely, I see no reason to tarnish the image of these companies just because they sponsored a team that claims to do everything is can to be clean.

Even on the strength that people are frustrated that has a DS that has a past he won't share in public.

You sir, are off-topic, and you are the one obsessed with me. Would you kindly leave me alone? Thank you. Good day.

He really didn't give me any info other than suggesting people I contact to support his position and that he had provided support to certain people. He said if I didn't have their contact info to contact him and he would provide it. So no, we'll just see what happens.

You said it buckwheat. It's up to you to contact those people, not for JV to hold you hand, unless you can't do it yourself (which we all know that you can).

He PM'd me on the 9th. With each passing day that the situation persists regarding doping in Pro Cycling, the criticism of JV becomes more warranted IMHO.

With each passing day you persist in interpreting everything in the worst possible light, without doing your due diligence. IMO you are simply demonstrating that your position is so entrenched that you don't want the information that could challenge it.

In general I resist the temptation to be blunt on the interwebs, but considering your often repeated enthusiasm for bluntness here goes: At the start of this thread, you finally pulled you head out of your @rse and recognized that you are not in a position to know the details behind JV's decisions to adopt the public position that he has. It's taken only a few days for you to get back to your hectoring approach, which given the tenor of your earlier posts is unsurprising. What is surprising, is that you can have your head so firmly stuck up your @rse without noticing that your *** stinks too. [rant ends]

I am not reacting specifically to that call for a boycott. I just happen to believe that JV has a duty that goes well beyond the absence of future doping positives. JV has a duty to break with Omerta (in my opinion). Don't confuse my support of Buckwheat's thinking with a call for a boycott. Notice that I never said that.

You'll give me an infraction for insulting Python, but you're allowing him to harass me here on this thread? I shouldn't have referred to Python as a fool worthy of pity, but I've ceased. He has not.

no you are obsessed with jv and are apparently upset at me for calling you out to the point of psycho analysing me ("passive aggressive"). stop posting nonsense or experience the results of your moronic psychoanalysis.

Well, on this thread, being obsessed with JV is at least "on-topic". You're merely harassing me. What do YOU think about JV? You're obsession seems to be me.

The fact that I've noticed that you generally communicate your opinion through thinly veiled questions seems to have upset you.

I'm not obsessed with JV. But I'm firm in my belief that he has been lacking in vertebral integrity.

Then he will do the steam control and manage the situation again.

The main reason put forth by others was that JV wouldn't speak up was that it would hurt his career.

I think that was thoroughly debunked and the criticism of JV is valid.

I would also actively discourage people from buying the brands he and his team endorse, as I've done with LA, because of his stance on this issue.

To the highlighted.....how? I have asked on several occassions what should JV be doing and I have yet to get any kind of responce that makes sence.

JV PMed you - have you checked in to what he asked and what was said?
Or have you decided not to check the facts - because to do so might mean you cannot maintain your original position?

bs. i'm calling out you on your record.

i can make a case that you are harassing jv, the member of this forum who has been open in his identity and opinion whilst you've been hiding behind anonymity and kept opening threads about jv that were adding nothing and got shut down resulting in your incessant whining. taste some of your own medicine, troll.

Why has JV a "duty" that goes beyond his team and what he can control?

His only other duty is if called by the Feds is to answer truthfully and in the absence of anything to say he has not done so is ridiculous.

You and I have covered this ground before. I think we can agree to disagree. I'm comfy with that.

BS. This entire thread has to do with the (minority) opinion that JV lacks integrity. I'm harassing no one here. But I'm allowed to have an opinion. You're feeling high and mighty after tattling on me (I can see). You know the old saying: "In every city, they's _____ ta _______"

if that's the case why the hell did you keep opening additional threads about the same god damiit topic ? if you could agree to to disagree, i'd assume your obsession would not have been strong enough to open two topics about jv that did nothing but repeated the same and the same. sounds a bit illogical or more likely a failed attempt to manipulate the forum ?

I think I opened two threads total about JV. I didn't know two topics warranted the label of obsession.

So when will hurricane Python end?

You quoted my post that specifically dealt with the Boycott so therefore your posts explicitly DOES react to the boycott.

I find it interesting that the mods jump upon the word 'boycott'.

I understand that this forum is via a site that obviously, and fundamentally must, rest upon sponsor money to keep it going. And going contrary to that might bring the hammer...

Maybe a little less explicit application of 'financial omerta' in the cycling world would help?

JV, direct quote "I'm dead serious. If you need contact information for any of these folks, feel free to ask."

Well, I'ma askin......

Really? I just think the criticism is warranted and I think my underlying good nature got played upon by JV.

The burden is on him because he set the height of the bar, not me.

I'm just pointing out the obvious; that he's not clearing it.

BTW, I noticed you're getting a little nasty here.:)

I have suggested truthful responses to qualified journalists. Kimmage would seem to fit that category.

Now, please tell how JV's career would be harmed by that and by who?

Direct your attention that way then...

I've gotten backchanneled regarding players who felt that if JV spoke up, their burden would have been eased significantly.

I completely maintain my original position.

I don't stand by the diplomacy, or lack thereof, which I utilized.

I have no problem admitting when I'm wrong.

Others such as JMBeaushrimp have stated the case more succinctly than I have.
