It's part of a much greater conspiracy. Clearly.

You still haven't answered my question, "Digger"

Btw - For those of you who think "Digger" outed his name in the Kimmage thing, no.... that was a fake name. He lied. Again. He's too much of a coward to reveal his real name and had a meltdown when someone actually figured out who he was.

The champion of the people and truth: Digger

The paragon of hypocrisy: Digger

Brings a whole new element to the table, eh? When you actually have to live with what you've done and said in a public setting...

Transparency is a one way street for the champions of hypocrisy, like Digger and the rest of the anonymous bully gang that reside here.

But that's what this place has become. Unfortunately. At least unfortunately for the posters that I see asking real and pertinent questions.

I guess I was right when I said Digger hit a nerve.

Its pretty low of you to use his name to try and bully him and discredit his opinions.

One, they're not relevant. Two there are legitimate safety issues which people would be foolish to ignore.

They shouldn't be relevant, but the constant nasty, personal nature of some members' posts makes them relevant.

We are pretty lucky to have the subject of the thread willing to engage with us. Debate...sure..take his words with a grain of salt. But the ridiculous attacks are tiresome and unpleasant for everyone.

JV, I'm genuinely curious about the Pettis issue....has it come up internally?

I've always said it: Digger makes me angry. Not hit a nerve, but angry. yes.

His name? I used the first part of his fake name that he gave out to people. I don't actually even know his last name. I've seen other people post photos and speculate as to what his last name is, but I don't know for certain if its accurate or not.

haha!!!

that's funny....Joe Lindsey did not speak to me about that piece...he spoke to Leslie and Andy, not me...how he got that name I do not know. I even spoke to him after the article appeared...so you claim I lied!

Anyway, you say coward - the guy who said that lance was an all American hero, the guy who would not stand up to the UCI regarding Floyd, the guy who waited for Floyd to come forward before doing so, IN PUBLIC, himself...

I think we both know who's having a meltdown here...as regards answering questions...you remember the question I asked whether Doug knew Floyd had doped when he donated money to the fund...

Just out of interest when you signed up for this account why didn't you use your real name and why are you using an avatar of a guy from Trainspotting?

Because I'd noticed that there are a small number of really spiteful posters here, and I don't doubt for a second that some of them are not above cyberstalking.

If, however, I was putting myself forward as a self-styled investigative reporter I'd do what every other journalist with integrity does and use my own name

And YOU, of all people, should not talk about bullying. You're the king of it in this place. In your nice, protected forum where no real consequences of your bullying exist.

the photos which were meant to be of me and my family where you said I was ugly? JV, seriously how did you get to where you are today with this level of incompetence?

Thanks.

No, that issue has never come up. Either I trust Ryder (or anyone else) or I don't. There's really not a middle street, in my opinion.

This forum has never required user identity and never suggested any preference for or against it. I don't see what's changed–when you joined it was this way and has always been.

While it seems intuitive that real identity changes online behavior, the facts suggest that while there is an effect, it wears off over time.

Either way, there has been no change here.

I never talk about peoples personal lives. You knew that digger was uncomfortable with his personal life being brought to twitter, but you still used that as a way to attack him.

Just wondering how you knew there were spiteful posters here before you created your account, ESP?

I'm also glad JV posts here occasionally, and I also agree that a lot of the crap that gets tossed his way is a joke. But one can deal with the content of the posts without sinking to the level of attacking an online pseudonym. It adds nothing and is pretty pointless. There is nothing useful about the last set of posts in any way.

Jeebus JV, you know how to use the ignore feature, why not use it?

I know! It's like the block feature on twitter. But then somehow Digger keeps popping up in my timeline anyway. Like an undead Zombie or something.

Err...by reading it

And even though there were 'spiteful posters' you thought you'd join. Did you read the non-clinic sections or did you just dive straight into the clinic?

We need look no further than any comments sections that require a Facebook login. Good lord, when people use their real identities, I would say that the vitriol escalates ten fold from what was probably imagined prior.

It would appear that many people, once they cross that barrier, become further emboldened to mount their personal podium and announce to the world that THEY WIILL HEARD! AND WTF ARE YOU GOING TO DO ABOUT IT!?!?

Which is most clearly demonstrated when people actually post illegal acts online, and are then surprised that, Hey, I can get in trouble for that!

I shouldn't be surprised how clueless Facebook's Marketing Director is. FFS. Wrong, wrong, wrong.
“I think anonymity on the Internet has to go away,” argued former Facebook Marketing Director, Randi Zuckerberg. “People behave a lot better when they have their real names down. … I think people hide behind anonymity and they feel like they can say whatever they want behind closed doors.”

Another question:

JV,

You recently turned 41. Do you think if you had trained consistently, and were currently on a doping program that was well suited to your own physiology, would it be possible for you to podium at a Grand Tour?

If not, how high in the GC do you suppose you could finish, in a race that was also well suited to you?

(Asking for a friend)

Question for JV:

I recently spent some time with somebody working for a current pro team (not yours!) who told me that results were being heavily influenced by the work of a particular clinic in California.

Have you heard about this?
