Just like that other American cyclist from years ago, having a go at the clinic. :D

Yep he is in good company.

But then if JV wanted to get some real information out there to clean cyclists he could write a blog instead of all the innuendo he tried here in to here to get some kudos.

That has made my night.

Bet you're laughing into your argyle in that ol basement of yours..... ;)

Wait is he saying we're bitter?

Bitter?

No, just the obvious, that some here are very stupid.

Kinda fitting;
Never argue with an idiot, they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

No, just the obvious, that some here are very stupid.

And some are instantly gullible.

And some, some just want believable answers to really fricken simple questions. Too bad they hurt JV each time they were asked. Wounded him so much he still sooks about it on the public stage afforded him via Twitter.

Not sure what you expected? Him just taking page after page ridiculing and insults?
I don't like him at all, but you got what you asked for.
Really can't blame him.

He was not ridiculed - possibly not even once. And insulted never.

Your memory is possibly biased by what JV told you but people do not have to accept what someone says at face value when said someone clearly has an agenda, and is wont to speak utter crap.

He easily gave as good as he got, and yet not a single person out in Twitter land is playing the sour grapes game, having blocked him to prevent defense of accusations, etc.

Looks like we clearly read different theads then, pointless to continue with this, even for me :)

Feel free to show a single example of either - insult or ridicule. It's open to interpretation, of course, subjectively some people are more sensitive and what some see as questions and persistent enquiry can be perceived as insult or otherwise.

But I would welcome a single example. We're in the right thread. Your confidence suggests it would not be onerous to find numerous such examples. I'll find examples where JV insulted our intelligence as counter points if you like?

Just read his posts and the replies, many, many examples of both here.

I mean JV's calibration error thing has been ridiculed ever since he said it, by some not all of course.

Ah gotcha. Understood. I was thinking more he as a person was ridiculed or insulted directly.

Ridiculing the ridiculous is something I would struggle chastising, but then I am willing to discuss everything from soigneur death to adoption motivation as it pertains to self-induced hormone imbalance so I differ significantly from most, granted.

I'm not as confident as you - but I was there at the start of this thread, so am aware reading it could avail examples. However I did not make the claim he was ridiculed and insulted, you did, so it's your subjective interpretation of what was said I was seeking. I cannot find that by looking. I do not have your filters. I am not interested in reading a bunch of lies misdirection and half-truths again looking for a perceived insult or ridicule. No offense.

JV admits to not knowing anything about Kreuziger's case. Way to keep on top of what is happening in the sport....

Jonathan Vaughters ‏@Vaughters 35m35 minutes ago
@Doefnix I do not know the specifics of case (such as collection time, delivery method, sample temp) so, can't make educated conclusion.

JV takes another pop at the clinic....

Jonathan VaughtersVerified account
‏@Vaughters
@forearms @Doefnix all I ever saw was sneering self righteousness+poorly thought out arguments. Plus, it's not actually helping clean guys.

Why would talking about doping help clean guys?

But then again Vaughters tweets are really helpful.........to secondhand porsche owners and wannebe winos and the odd pilot...i suppose....

Ok, JV wasn't always treated well here, but that is really a gross oversimplification. In fact, rather than sneering or self-righteousness, it might be more fair to say that some folks were very firm in their opinions, and very critical of JV.

At least he wasn't 'fawned over'. And it is notable that the threads are/were moderated.

Having defended JV considerably, I am actually offended by that characterization even though I thought a few folks had gone overboard.

Dave.

JV's recent tweets have only served to reveal his default response mode, self-righteous indignation with a generous side of snide.

JV is JV's own worst enemy. He believes that arguing technicalities serves as his key to defining "clean cycling" on his own terms, anyone else's opinion is wholly based in ignorance for failing to accept his terms.

My dearly departed grandfather would have admiringly called JV "a bull$ΗΛΤτΣr's bull$ΗΛΤτΣr."

I believe the responses JV got while he still posted here were, for the most part, pretty civilized. It's gotten out of hand more recently, but then JV himself has largely changed his tune, too. He doesn't seem that open anymore - perhaps because his arguments cannot any longer plausibly stand against what we're seeing on and off the road.

you cannot come in here and suggest that your internal testing excludes all possibility of PED abuse among your riders.
that's what JV did by vouching for each single one of his riders, although he doesn't actually spend a whole lot of time with them.
to say "I know riders X and Y are clean, trust me", without any sort of data to back it up, that's insulting to any slightly skeptical fan with half a brain, as it's denying the obvious fact that you still cannot prove a negative unless you provide some serious data transparency, a promise which JV has failed to deliver on.

Nah, it wasnt very civil, it sometimes was plain nasty, just like JV's responses were, at times, ask Dear Wiggo, ask the mods who deleted those rants.

I didnt like the sucking up to him by members who were more than critical when JV wasnt around, that is simply hypocritical.

If I have a question for JV I ask him on twitter, no problem, not even with the 140 chars limit, my questions are simple as hell, and I always get a straight answer.

People expected too much from the guy posting here, like he was going to say on this board he didnt trust Sky and stuff; not gonna happen, come on, the guy has a buisiness to run! Fifty, sixty real people are depending on him and Doug Ellis, come on, be real.

I dont miss him I must say, not for the person he is cause I dont know him but for me it didnt add anything to the board.

And as I said, just ask him stuff on twitter, you will get your answer. He is pretty okay for a nerd ;)

We do miss Brodeal though.

Dear Wiggo I think got blocked asking pretty simple questions through twitter.

He plays it well. The press with their incredibly high standard  are happy to put him on an antidoping pedestal just because he puts that little bit of extra thought into his antidoping talk.

As for expectations, if there are any its because he raises those himself by claiming he's dedicated his life to antidoping. It's guys of his ilk that make the anglophone press including guys like Walsh look the other way and trump the "CLEANS" trumpet.

Give me an Oleg, Lefevere or Vino anytime.

He's so dedicated to it, he even took PED's to get into the mindset of those who doped so he could relate to them and save them from the darkside. :D

I got blocked by him on twitter when I tweeted him about the Astana positives. :)
