JVs not here, so he is not ignoring it - more straw.

But, he should ignore it. It is a simple question, with simple answers - yet you want to waste his time addressing it? Why?

Why do you not let him answer it? I did not put a time limit on the answer. I can wait. Why cant you?

Dr. Maserati said:
And it's a dumb question - completely meaningless. You're only interested in gotcha stuff and even then failing.

So dumb you have spent all this time addressing it.

Dr. Maserati said:
Nice try - I have no intention of ignoring you, none.
If you don't want me correcting your drivel, then write something intelligent.

That you enjoy correcting my drivel says more about you than me ;)

I didn't address it - I pointed out that it was complete irrelevant. stupid and a total waste of his (and everyone else) time.

It does - it shows I want to actually talk about about something of substance, that I want JV asked good, hard crunching and intelligent questions.

It wasn't addressed to you. If you didn't answer the post I might not have posted in this thread again! But you get off on doing this.

If you want substance you wouldnt have dragged out this to and fro over a question that was not directed at you, but you couldn't help yourself.

A simple question about the end of a race i attended after a hard stage with an important and harder one the next day. This is what 'marginal gains' are supposed to be about according to clean teams.

Keep drivelling.

This thread is a heartbreak...the privilege of talking with the articulate GM of a Pro Tour team and the desperation of reading posts by clinicians on an anti-Sky crusade, just because they happen to have the biggest budget and can afford the better riders in numbers and as a result win many races...like La Vie Claire in '85/'86 but obviously these same people were not following cycling at that time or care to research what they didn't experience first hand...

It's just dull bickering from two people. Can they not take it to private messaging?

This thread is one of the few active threads that isn't just petty point scoring from the same few people.

The bolded I totally agree with.

What the f*ck is wrong with 'fans'?

Mind you, I have to admit that at times I am one of the "clinicians".

I'm a clinician because I'm so frustrated with the sport and its people that I have to view every performance as questionable, I'm a clinician because I still watch the sport after all the disclosure we've had (not just with LA, but with Rabo and every other team that was kicking *ss the last couple of decades), and I'm even more of a clinician for knowing what's going on and still wanting to watch it.

The ire and ignorance JV was attacked with was really poor form.

He actually comes here to interact with fans. This was the best you could come up with? You don't know even if he could answer the tough questions, because you never tried. There was a universal resort to decades-old comments, and whole lot of sh*t talking, rather than questions or deliberate dialogue.

I have picked on JV in the past for not being as "hardcore" as I would like. That is only based on my personal ideal of having someone on the inside being as frustrated as I am. I'm sure JV's frustrated, but he's not willing to kick the doors in at Aigle HQ and burn that f*cker to the ground. Unfortunately, that's my metric.

Look at it this way: He visits the forum, he's a GM of a serious team, he's admitted his own doping and says he's against future doping in the sport he loves, and he's got a pretty good hammer as to what cycling my become post-UCI.

B*tch as I may, let's not drive our one solid contact to the pro peloton into the ground...

It was addressed to GM of a team.
Ya, a completely dumb question with zero value to anything, and you want an insider to tell you something that he did not claim.

I want substance - I am showing you that your post has none, zero.
That you cannot get that and think the fact that you didnt see people warm down on bikes that were not set up for them for who knows what reason (or cares) is pretty sad.

According to Sky, yes. JV is not Sky!

Does he agree with it, I am sure he does, because marginal gains are good - but it will yield marginal benefits and none at all when everyone adopts it.

so you keep repeating. If it had no value why not ignore it?

Long time since this sport had any substance at the top flight.

You have totally missed the point of my question. Ah well. Your personal affront on JVs behalf has led to this long worhtless back and forth.

What is your point in continuing this? Point scoring?

You get turned on putting a poster down on behalf of a guy who has a meh attitude to this place and who only does it becuase he has to, but wouldn't if the teams all paid big money for BP.

Next.

Oh, and why do you think JV has a meh attitude to here?

I wonder would it have anything to do with a few clueless people who bring up irrelevant stuff and out dated out of context comments to show JV in some bad light rather than asking tough direct questions.

And why does he "have to come here"? He doesn't - he could ignore here like everyone else in the sport.

Why dont you ask JV about his meh attitude? Maybe he gets ****ed off the with the simple stupid questions and the posters who take those questions and drone on about it!

Clueless, include your cluelessness in that by dragging this out to ad infinitum.

Another Q for JV, IMO he comes here for anti doping cred and also gets off talking online with the plebs. Makes him feel warm all over, like charity. :D

The meh attitude you introduced? Why would I ask him about that?

Your just like sniper, you tell me to "keep driveling" in one post and then complain about personal stuff in the next.

My deal to sniper extends to you also - if you notice I rarely need to address any other posters.

I'm sorry. I have no intention of doing that. None.

I do understand that it is frustrating and it muddys an otherwise worthy thread - but I do not see what value the 2 named posters add. None.
I even offered a pretty simple solution too, up to them.

Mr. Vaughters,

How many doctors (PhD., M.D.) do you have on staff? What roles do they fill? What do they do on a daily basis?

Why can't their roles be filled by "soigneurs" with a background in sports physiology or sports therapy?

BTW, do you think Bjarne Riis should be running a team? A Pro Tour team?

Would you ever enter into a business arrangement with Bruyneel?

What do you think about Horner's season thus far? Should he be racing

Normally, regulations from a supervising body keeps an organization on the "up and up". Which regulations and which organization are keeping cycling clean?

BTW, McQuaid just asked for $6 million to process the application for a new Russian race. Is there a schedule outlining these fees? Does every race have to pay this fee? Do you have to pay for your Pro Tour license? Is this a standard fee codified somewhere...?

It doesn't "muddy" it, it ****ing ruins it, like many other threads.

Have I ever criticized you? I am sure I have quoted you and offered an opinion - and if there was something (I feel was) incorrect, pointed it out?
But have I ever had to address you like I do with sniper or Benotti, I would say no.

The simple reason for that is I appreciate your posts, even if we don't always agree.
A great question to JV has just been posted, that's what this thread should be not a personal vendetta by 2 clueless people who appear to get off playing gotcha to someone on the inside.

And another thing...

How many teams have sports psychologists on staff? You'd think Sky (marginal gains) would have a half dozen of them on staff.

Under-performing riders!? Rice cakes... But not a sports psychologist to be found.

How many physicists do you employ? Aerodynamics seem important... Maybe friction too.

What's the practical difference between a sports psychiatrist and a sports psychologist?

The psychiatrist can prescribe meds, the psychologist can only help you with how much you hate yourself or your mother...

Question:

Why is this topic in the clinic anyway? You know, given some questions are nothing more like 'he, JV, do you brush your teeth when you go to bed?', or 'he JV, love your show man, keep up the good sideburns!', or 'he JV, I feel your pain man, you know, you just had to do what you did in 1996, and behind the back of Roger, that old fart'.

The clinic is about doping talk, Vaughters will never show the back of his tongue here, and, frankly, who really expects him to do that? Six month ago he had two or three beers and thought 'hey, lets forum with the looneytunes' and gave some opinions of his riders, it was promptly on every cycling/sports news site all over the globe. Due to good moderating his rants were left out ;)

It is nice to speak to Vaughters here but do not go overboard, be realistic. He is never going to say what is on 'the clinic's mind', so, juggle. Be a little more political, just like Vaughters is.

Cover/hide the cynicism...

And yeah, he is good at PR, but, hey, he is not as bad as Hein/Pat. Softporn.
