JV going off the deep end with this Oleg love on twitter.

Dedicating his life to anti doping, but not a single word on the astana positives

My first unassisted landing in flight school today. Only used 1 wheel and 3 bounces to get 'er down.

He got a promotion at the UCI by being blessed with the remnants of Cannondale. He's not an edge case at the UCI.

IMO, it's a smart move by the UCI. JV has the best message out there.

Only to those stupid enough not to question what they are told. Most sports fans, in fact most humans............

Though JV is no sucker. He's navigated the shark filled waters pretty well. Lots say dopers like Riis and Vino should not be in the sport, but JV and his PR message is fine.

Keep selling cookies, JV.

The decision was that my values were either from a blood transfusion or blood boosting agent during the Tour of Britain. Now during that race I’m getting **** tested every day I’m in yellow. That’s about four days. I’m not going positive but their reasoning for that was because the Tour of Britain tests weren’t screening for EPO. Well in my mind that’s pathetic. The only things they should be screening for are things like EPO. What are they testing for? Amphetamines? We’re not in the 1960s or 1970s.

There was also no target testing. My next test was maybe 10 weeks later.

What does this have to do with JV? Can you fill in the blanks for me please?
I think JTL quite concisely summarizes how flawed testing in cycling still is and thus how empty JV's claims of cleaner cycling are.
plus, if the testing was so massively flawed in 2012, that doesn't reflect well on Hesjedal's Giro win. Not that that's anything new for anybody with half a brain, but still.

JTL is pretty much saying only EPO and blood doping have an effect, at a time when we might be seeing other products taking over as the PED of choice, and you're taking his word for it just to get at JV? Seriously?

i see your point, and it's valid, though it doesn't make CleanER Cycling less of a joke.
I'm not trying to get at JV just for the sake of it. Yes, he ranks high in terms of hypocricy. And yes, I do think that there is ample evidence out there of how flawed and partially corrupt the testing system is and can be, and JTL's case adds to that.
We have no proof whatsoever that Hesjedal's Giro win was a clean win.
JV's main argument is/has been that cycling got cleaner because of progress in testing.

But fair enough, the JTL posts were probably ill-placed in this thread.

I would be more interested in hearing what JV thinks about one of his young guys going to hang out with the usps dopers

Why not pay Ryder those 6 mo? Its not like he was ever suspended or anything. Name may have popped up at USADA, the Canadian authorities may have delayed interviewing him until the infraction was outside the SOL. The authorities won't tell us what questions were asked or answered. We just need to trust USADA, CCES and JV the athletes were all fully truthful in private. So what if a question was asked like "Ryder, did you do this terrible thing over 8 years ago?", the answer was yep, and no more questions were asked. Can't see why to dock any of the Giro champs pay for that?

6 months ban over winter for doping and getting paid is a holiday.

I dont believe Hesjedal's doping stopped with USPS. He rode for Phonak, that jucied to the heavens team, never mind winning a GT! So getting paid while supposedly being banned is hardly a punishment.

I dont trust USADA, CCES or JV.
