After second place in Flèche Wallone earlier this year, Vauquelin delivered Arkéa's first ever Tour de France stage win on stage 2 into Bologna, in his first tour. The team's TDF hopes rested on the likes of Quintana, Barguil and Bouhanni in recent years, but in the end it was a 23 year old from Normandy who delivered. He turned pro in 2022 and first came to wider attention when finishing second to Jan Hirt on Green Mountain in Oman that year. The team refer to this year's tour as a "discovery for him", he'll surely be involved in more breaks in the coming weeks.

6th place in the TT, behind the 'big 4' and Campenaerts. Really good performance, Arkea will do well to hang on to this guy.

Assault, intimidation, insults, threats, incorrect behaviour (including pulling the jersey or saddle of another rider, blow with the helmet, knee, elbow, shoulder, foot or hand, etc.), or behaviour that is indecent or that endangers others.
From what I've read, after they reviewed the video of the sprint finale he was fined for some shoulder-to-shoulder action when fighting for position.

It was a shocking move and he should have been disqualified. It was a full on shoulder charge on Mohoric.

Why hasn't he raced at all since the Bretagne Classic? Injured? You would think the team could need the points he can get (as well as my CQ team).

Apparently, I just needed to speak the word and bam, he is on the start list for tomorrow's Coppa Agostoni.

I don't expect him to hold on in the mountains, but it would certainly be important for France. It rarely looked great in the more recent past but now it looks grim.

Alaphilippe past it, Barguil past it, Gaudu - well, I don't even know what to say here, Bardet retired, Pinot retired ...

So while waiting on Seixas the best they got is Martin for a lower top 10 with some breakaways in the mountains. So yes, a strong Vauquelin holding on would really be good.

Great ride today and most expect he will be good in the mountains. Definitely a podium contender even with all the mountains and two full weeks to come. A new French hope!
Who expects that? I don't. And I haven't seen many others saying that either. But I'm not on Twitter, which is maybe where the real cycling opinions are.

I don't either. A outsider for a top10 perhaps, but will bleed a lot of time in week 3.

Another great performance. Hopefully he can get a stage win.
He looks super strong and is riding in a very opportunistic mode; it would be fantastic to see him get one and I would not bet against him at all. Really fun to watch. I'd hate to see him riding conservatively for GC; light it up and win one Kevin!
