Why were his 7 TDF a fraud if everyone was doping? Just because he said he didn't do it? Someone tell me who the last clean winner was? Heck, even Mercx got busted.

So let's stop calling LA a fraud because he refuses to admit he doped. A lot of other guys haven't admitted it.

But if we continue to call his wins a fraud, let's call the top 50% of the peloton frauds....

The bigger issue is how the drugs are obtained, used and dispersed.

Did everyone get advanced notice of "Surprise" test's? Does everyone get unapproved, experimental drugs? Does have $100,000 per year to pay a good doctor? Does everyone write books and make commercials tell you haw he wins because he works harder then his lazy competitors.

The '' refuses to admit he doped '' part clarifies him as a fraud and a liar.

The bigger issue you refer to may not be a totally different issue.

People call him a fraud because they are jealous and bitter.

It comes with the territory of being a celebrity.

Cancer is a bad term. Cancer can kill but it is doubtful that Lance will kill pro cycling....he just flares up now and again causing pain and irritation.

Lance Armstrong, The Herpes of Professional Cycling.

I am ok with him being called "the cancer", but am not sure if it is appropriate seeing as how Lance cured cancer.

How about the, IBS of Professional Cycling.

Ain't that the truth.

Lucky for Lance he feeds off the hate and bitterness yum.
Feed the warrior etc.....
He watches Kimmage and gets a bit more motivated.
Go Lance Go.
Flying in his private jet as we speak. Off to OZ.

Are you only a cheat if you get caught? Are you only a fraud as long you evade sanctions? I'm not being silly, but maybe that's the evolution of the truth. Hero > Fraud > Cheat.

It doesn't matter if anyone else was cheating, his greatest career achievements came under false pretenses (that he was in fact clean) so it's still a fraud. If everyone knew he was cheating, then it can't really be a fraud. If he didn't want to be labeled a fraud he could have come out long ago and explained the truth.

I hope that when Armstrong is sent down Betsy comes on here to join in the celebrations. Preferably drunk. And with the swear filter switched off. ;)

***, did we meet before? I do have a potty mouth but don't say the bad ones in front of the kids.

I love Paul. Frankie knows.

It must feel good (if these things can ever feel good) for the truth to be coming out. After years of "lacking credibitility" and "being bitter" you can finally hold your head up.

Surprised NOS didnt ask to talk to you guys, or are you holding out for Jay Leno :D

(Im waiting to see which mod has the balls to hand betsy a warning for circumnavigating the word censor) :D

If Ullrich or Basso or whoever had won 7 in a row instead, we'd be calling him a fraud just as loudly. Which we do anyway - take a look at any of the Contador threads.

It's really not about Armstrong at all, in many ways; dunno why you guys can't get that.

I think the fraud part comes in because Armstrong is the biggest Anti-Doping doper that theres ever been.

And the fact that he has profited from "Cancer" which he arguably got from doping.

But there are no charges yet. The lawyers aren't go-for-broke personalities in order to make it as far along as they have in their careers. I'm hopeful they've got enough. Really I am. I'm hopeful it's multiple felonies throughout Team Pharmstrong.

This is where the intricacies of The Law (and politics) may turn felonies into minor crimes. Also remember the appeals process has gotten a large number of well financed criminals off the hook for their crimes.

Proceed with caution.

Proceed with caution if making assumptions about whether charges, sanctions or a conviction are likely. There is no longer any need for caution when responding to the assertion that "there is no evidence".

There is evidence.

I have known people from Texas. A woman from Texas is worth 10 men from anywhere else in the world.
Tex, uniballer, the worlds greatest fraud etc. as described by the angry bitter, jealous haters(which As now been illuminated to me that SI has joined that narrow minded club) is worth 7TdFs over any international champion. You know why.....because he is Lance and proud. I have no issue with that.

Nothing away from Jan as I would Glog a pitcher of Octoberfest with him any day despite our language barrier, Basso has not won a Tour yet.

Our country is based on freedom, love it.

We have ex-patriots of all nationalitys who enjoy our wonderful Southern California, like this gentleman and his German wife.

If an attorney wrote that he or she should be disbarred.

A lawyer may have written part of it, but he didn't write this part:

there is no basis to anything he has said about me in some time

That was written by a fool.

In other words, at some point in time there was a basis for what Lemond said about Lance. Lance has confirmed that Greg, indeed, was telling the truth.

A lawyer - or a decent writer - never would have made that admission.

Dave.

Interesting to see Juliet Macur fully turning into a "hater" or a "troll" as Armstrong labels those who appreciate truth. Macur wrote quite a few fangirlish articles back in the early 2000's but I am quite sure she was legitmately fooled by the Myth back then, especially being an American journalist who learned about cycling while following the Armstrong victories.

Regardless, a smart and talented journalist knows when it's time to come down on the correct side of the story to ensure their position does not undermine their own credibility. We've now seen Macur, Gwenn Knapp, the entire Wall Street Journal, and Sports Illustrated all join as skeptics of Armstrong. The worm has certainly turned in the American press.

You really cannot compare the Lance case to the OJ case.

The Lance Case is a Federal Case.
Not a flaky SoCal case like OJ.

Lance is up against much more formidable opponents.
The Most Formidable.

If Lance can beat the FEDS, you will KNOW he is cleared....

No Polish.... when he beats The CLINC.... then he might consider himself cleared :D

Aha - use of random non-sequiturs thrown together. Very entertaining. I have no issue with that!

To Flicker and FatandFast I have a question.......what would you say if Kristin tells all about Lance's doping? Will yee think it's lies?

That's the $10,000 question right there.
I'd very curious, if everything does break out in the open, to see what all the wives and girlfriends have to say. Not just Lance's, but Floyd's and Tyler's too. It makes one wonder what Sheryl may have been privy to as well.
