It is not the 1st time Digger has posted that the 3 (Lesli, Andy and himself) did not tip off media, but Benson wrote the story and yet you question my post.

I went back through Digs twitter profile and post here, he mentions nothing about Benson being friends with Brown, which is what Benotti claimed.

I have noted that Benson has not contributed to this thread after stirring it up with his mate Brown.

Maybe Benson can clarify who contacted him in relation to this story as Brown is denying he contacted anyone.

trolls, aside, a majority on this thread donated to the fund -- usually more than once -- and would do so again. Paul is in a unique situation where he can show that the emperor has no clothes. we cannot.

i know it's very stressful for him but all the respect in the world that he understands where we're coming from and what we want. to let one petty little man ruin it all is a shame beyond shames. it should not and does not reflect badly on Paul, you, or Andy.

i've seen Paul come out fighting when his back was against the wall and i hope this has not changed. if, however, the stress is just too much for him, i will respect his decision and i'm sure i'm not alone in this. but...

tell him to keep heart. we are still behind him. we have his back.

I would absolutely donate again and am certain that considerable money would flow with any degree of success against the McQuaid/Verbruggen/UCI BS.

A sorry state of affairs. I must say that I'm absolutely astonished that a founder of a purportedly progressive voice in cycling seems to have run away with funds donated in a progressive cause.

But I don't feel slighted either. I accept that we will always have parasites, and that some of these will be in human form.

I donated, because I believed that Paul was unfairly targeted by the UCI. In their sum, our donations had a major effect, without any expenditure at all.

I will donate again (to a different fund obviously), should the UCI again target Paul without fair reason, or should another banner issue arise.

Well, looks like we can end the speculation now and start an all out attack on Mr. Aaron Brown, who I assume is the one who admits stealing from the Kimmage fund.

Feck him. Hopefully this is a criminal offense and he will pay dearly for it.

How did he think he would get away with it, such a high profile fund with thousands of donors many of whom follow the Kimmage/UCI situation closely.

No matter what the full conversation was nor context that was said in, there is no justification.

He clearly says he tapped into the funds.....but he also says he reimbursed it from his personal funds. He also says that tapping into the funds is not the right thing to do, right after he says "F Paul"

The extended clip sounds to me like he's saying "we need money now, and we only have one possible immediate source". The 'F- Paul' thing wouldn't be out of place in a private conversation referring to someone who's supposed to be a friend of yours, in that context of saying "We could use the Fund money, which would basically be a 'F- you' to Paul - but that would be wrong".

I took the F Paul thing to mean if he dipped into the funds then that would be like saying F Paul but that isn't the right thing to do.

However of course he did dip into the funds but also payed the money back, going by the clips, not sure what the state of the account is right now.
