look at 2006 time.the year rujano messed up with savio, had very few races in legs and "had no form".still beating times of tonkov and berzin easily.

so contador to face a rival like no other one in the person of the venezuelan champ?pretty possible if you ask me.
he dropped cunego and the others like they were some lame-asz amateurs.pushing the pedals and riding away in big style.we'll see more in trentino, where the other big guns will appear.

to me there's no doubt the only threat for contador comes out of south america now and especially in the coming years with riders like duarte and henao

You're overhyping Rujano, he hasn't done anything extraordinary this season and he's sucked in Europe for years. He's with Savio so he'll probably be up there and it'll be a disgrace for cycling, but right now we have to wait and see.

edit: by the way, anyone else fed up with the whole blindly supporting and overhyping riders based solely on their nationality? I bring this up in this thread where we're talking about Colombians and a Venezuelan, but usually it's even worse with the Belgians and the Dutch.

i saw on italian tv rujano going clear really easily on the bocchetta climb, with no hopes for the others to follow him-
he was really impressive and i think he can repeat 2006.
then you will realize that there is not that much hype on him.

if he stays healthy, he will be a real GC thread

Nice video TourofSardinia. Wow, Cunego made those four Androni guys look like clowns  Easily answering those attacks, and then finishing it off in the sprint. When one guy is stronger than four guys from another team, that's pretty impressive.

Unfortunately the complete Colombian show only applied to all the moves and attacks leading up to the finale; when it came to the finale they were outgunned by the French, Belgians, Russians and Spaniards.

Suárez looks to be a talent. Wasn't he one of the two EPM guys that got into the move with Rujano and Henao killed everyone in that Vuelta a Colombia stage last year?

edit: nvm, just checked on CQ, it was stage 10, and the two guys were Suárez and Colorado.

that was the finale. colombia es passoon made it and colored it and had 4 guys in the group of 14 sprinting it out. they weren't outgunned, orbitel were but they had just landed 2 days before. I would expect them in asturias. on paper they have a way better team than colombia es passion and they have above all way more experience so they will adapt better and ride more tactical I assume. they also did in 2003 and 2004 in spain with orbitel winning a number of races in spain.

suarez is indeed a good talent but the move you talked about was when suarez put across 2 minuten in an incredible downhil. colorado actually dropped henao and rujano on the alto la linea but crashed and broke his collarbone(but continued and finished the race!) while suarez bridged up 2 minutes in downhil to rujano and henao and helped out colorado who had fallen back after his crash. henao won the stage

It just surprised me... Hrotha always made serious comments, some of them sarcastics but They are always ok... ;)
Turns out you can discuss Klöden and by extension RadioShack but somehow Armstrong lives in a parallel universe all by himself, unrelated to anything else.
