Just finished the Kentish Killer sportive which is about 125-150 miles as he crow flies from KBK and covers similar terrain. No cobbles though :( Persistent rain - about 20mm or nearly an inch - in 3 hours and winds gusting at up to 50mph. It's pretty grim out there at the moment!

Brave man. I stayed in bed and missed this one. Hasn't stopped raining since 5am this morning. Well done.

It started at 12:15. TV pictures start at 2:30 CET or so.

I live in Germany not too terribly far away, and the storm is arriving here. Spitty rain and increasing wind so far. We were outside and it was not pleasant. They are prediciting hurricane-force winds with gusts up to over 100 km/h.

Susan

Susan how to the TV rights to cycling work for TV? ie why doesn't the UCI package this stuff up and sell it around the channels. Its so hit and miss to what is covered and what is not. I guess this was the idea to the ProTour and the support of newer races by the UCI.

I wish the grand tours got their consortium running and set up there own UCI and race circuit - reference Kerry Packer - they almost did it.

Basically there is a group at the front - about 8 riders. Behind them, maybe 30 seconds is another group of 12. The peloton featuring Freire is a further 30 seconds behind that group.

Haussler, EBH are the two favourites that are present and accounted for in the front groups.

Hmm... Apparently Hushovd, Hoste, Stannard, Langeveld and Sylvian Chavanel are among the riders in the chase group... Couldn't get all the names that were summed up...

Is it just Traksel at the front now, or does he still have some company?

They do have lovely weather today, I must say..

I really would love nothing more then a langeveld victory, but I don't see it happening. Rabo are well represented in that 2nd group though.
