Yea, this week kicks of the best part of the season, and it looks like it will be a nice way to start. Gotta love hard races and bad weather...at least you have to love watching it all wrapped up in a blanket drinking a nice warm drink.

Here is the podium...

1) Juan Antonio Flecha (Spa) Sky
2) Tyler Farrar (USA) Garmin - Transitions
3) Heinrich Haussler (Ger) Cervelo TestTeam

...and according to the cyclingnews.com website, Tom Boonen came in over 4 minutes in arrears. I wonder what happened to him? Did he crash?

Flat tire. Looked incredibly strong until that point.

Gonna go with a very long shot....Eeckhout will take it...

See him do better at GP Waregem, suits him far better with the closing circuit. K-B-K is more for the likes of the RVV with a sprint like Boonen, Pozzato and Friere. Also the real breakaway Classics rider like Gilbert and Nuyens. Nico won't have the legs to do either in a bunch or ride away and stay away.

Chances are he won't be in a small bunch clear either as he is still seen as a major man to mark, plus he is on form.

Well, as I said...a very long shot...more wishful thinking than real theory...but would love to see him take it...never know who is marking who...

I'm doing the un-imaginative thing again and going with:

1 - Boonen
2 - Haussler
3 - Pippo

I realize EBH did nothing but sit in today, but he still didn't have the legs to beat Haussler at the line, despite Haussler having spent a large portion of the day "wasting" his energy by showing most of the field how much stronger he was than them. And can anyone really argue that Boonen wasn't the strongest guy on the road today?

I expect more of the same at KBK, only without the flat tires Sky will need to pull the double.
