that's what i like about AC. with the exception of the dauphine last year, he is always racing to win and always ready to put in an attack...makes it a little boring when he's dominating, but still good on him for racing to win

No, our Continental ranking is too good. When you are not in the top 10 of the World Ranking, they look at the CT rankings. Netherlands is always in top 5 of Europe there. So 6 riders...

You flatter us. We used to be great, but recently our dopers have fallen behind or worse yet been caught (Bad Rasmussen, BAD!). Still Saxo Banks Foreign dopers are bringing glory to the team and perhaps Fuglsang and Breschel can restore the Era of Great Danish Dopers. We have some great young(er) dopers coming along as well. So I', hopeful for the future.

Evans himself said about how he had finished in almost every position in this race except 1st, I personally dont think the Mur de Huy is about climbing skills as much as it is about measuring your effort and Evans with all his Fleche experience got it right this time, Contador got trapped into following Anton. Its a power climber, not a climbers climb. Just great to see Contador up there going for the wins. Means absolutely nothing for the Tour unless there is a stage finish like this somewhere.

Is ACF worse than the Lance fans?

A very good possibility, but it will be a fight for him. I think Cuddles has the edge right now just because he didn't have an extended period of time off for doping. Vino looks strong, but Cuddles has many more GT miles in the past 3 years, and I think that will benefit him.

IIRC, he was the best Belgian in this race last year. He's been at this level for quite some time now. He's probably the best Ardennes rider without a decent team.

I dont hate him, in fact I cheered for him in worlds and really like his win today, but your talk about Spanish dopers irritates me and it spoils Cadel´s win too. Just keep it out from this thread.

Yeah, he didn't look happy on the podium. A lot of people were saying he didn't have a chance, but he was right there at the end, finishing with the same time. He's got three days to study the route for Liege Bastogne Liege. There's no reason not to go all out for that one.

Since Contador is only 27, I wondered what the next part of his career will be like. Now he has incentive to mix in days like today with the stage races.

Strong finish by Cadel. He's looking fit for the Giro. I don't know if any of you are fans of his, but it was a big day for him, and for BMC.

Yes. And I think he might be the favorite at this point. He previewed the las 30KM when he got to Belgium.

And for those who want to make excuses for AC the only one that seems valid to me is that he had no experience racing for the win and mistimed his effort. He learned, the hard way, what Cuddles learned in 2008. That being said, I think folks are getting far ahead of themselves proclaiming that Evans will now contend with AC in the Tour mountains. A stage race and a one day classic are different animals all together.
