Yes, you're right, but the commentator was Carlton Kirby who knows nothing about cycling. He seems to be Eurosport's stand in commentator when no one else is available. I supose I could just do without commentry!

Waterloo Sunrise said:
Carlton Kirby always was useless. Eurosport use him on shedloads of different sports, and he knows nothing about any of them.

Father Jack said:
Exactly what I was trying to say - well said that man!

Does Carlton Kirby have friends in very high places or otherwise WTF does he still have a job? It was basically gut wrenching to hear him commentate. I expected a bit more from Magnus Backstedt as well.

can i just point out that landis only failed one test... that means he only doped once, surely...

stop with these mindless allegations that he doped in georgia, cali etc without evidence please..

Is it not ironic that Floyd spews in Cali the race he won. The fact he and Levi are the only winners of the ToC in 4 years tarnishes the race for me. And it runs through my back yard. Both busted dopers and Floyd the best cyclist of that year, he won the tour d france that year......

Ya - they should strip Landis of his win in 2006 and give it to the runner-up Zabriskie.

Could be a problem with some of the stage winners to - Pollack won 2 stages, Hincapie, Levi and Floyd.

His been threatening this for a long time. He kept dropping hints about the USPS days and obviously the payment didn’t kick in or Landis was p1ssed at the lies that were being spewed out. Sleeping on a sofa on 25,000USD a year can’t be fun whilst watching Armstrong clean up.

Good on him for finally telling the truth. It was a matter of time. I don’t think it makes a big difference in the grand scheme of things but it might lay a few demons to bed.

He does have photos which will help the case.

I want my $25 back that I paid for positivly false Floyd Landis

Thanks as always dim. Amazing how quickly Phil 'knew' that Landis didn't have "a shred of evidence." I remember an offhand comment Phil made during the 2004 or 2005 Tour de France. He said that he didn't think he'd seen a clean winner in many years, something like the past 15-20. He mumbled that but didn't expand on it and Paul sure didn't qualify it. Never heard him mumble anything like that again. Anyone else recall this with more clarity than I?

Just fire up the viewer (turn the volume low - that way whenever the commentators start screaming you know to sit up and look) and sit back and watch.

The problem with that Ice, is that when Phil gets excited he is usually misidentifying a rider or misinterpreting what he sees on his screen. I keep the volume up only when I'm playing P&P drinking games. But never when Bob Roll is yammering.

I'm starting to think it might be a good idea to watch cycling coverage in a language I don't understand, at least I can watch the racing and not listen to the mindless dribble. Either that or watch it with the volume down or on mute.

i've been doing the italian channels on the net - hilarious commentary with some of the pronunciations.

If you mean me, then nah, I don't know anyone involved in the professional ranks. Used to race with a handful as juniors a long time ago, but don't know anyone to speak to.

He is a RAT, I'm sorry if mu humour is sometimes dryer than shoihgt flakes.

Just curious about Landis TOC 2006 win

So, like Riis, shouldn't Landis give back his 2006 Jersey from the TOC 2006?

Dude, learn your history. Riis never gave it back; he couldn't be bothered. Riis said they could come by and pick it up.

Magnus has been even handed in the last 2 days. You're right though, Kirby is a numpty - he spends half of his ToC slot talking about motor cycles. T w a t. To confirm Eurosport's Armstrong infatuation, they had the bare-faced cheek to include their Planet Armstrong 'zine in today's Giro coverage. Now, I have ZERO interest in absorbing any of Armstrong or Bruyneels propaganda which is why, until today, I have always found time to make a nice cup of tea when this drivel is on. Eurosport is a joke.

Not sure if its been posted yet but here it is again, story translation courtesy of NY Velocity, worthy read:

A Dirty Deal

http://nyvelocity.com/content/features/2010/dirty-deal

Basically states what many have thought or hypothesized for some time, UCI must also go down.

It confirms what many have been saying. The UCI is corrupt, certain riders are blacklisted, Bruyneel (and probably others) have undue influence etc. It has to come down.

That is hilarious.

Probably E. Dekker who shot him a message that it could indeed jeopardize his 'position in the peloton'.

I think most are silent, and are waiting for it to develop further. If nothing happens, they at least haven't made enemies. If the balance tips in favor of Landis, more and more will voice their opinions IMO.

No offense, but I don't understand what you're saying w/ "drug their clean competetors dicks in the dirt"? Is that the literal translation of some really good saying in Estonian or something?

Apologies if this has already been posted, but there's tons of stuff to get through in multiple threads, so here it is -

Neil Browne's latest entry including his impressions from having spoken to Floyd since the bomb dropped.

Edit - this was also in the article above. I hadn't seen this part announced anywhere else yet:
Also due to his injuries Armstrong will not be racing the Dauphiné Libéré and his participation in Tour de Suisse has a huge question mark following it.

His injuries? I thought he had a sore elbow and a cut on his face. So he's going to prepare for the Tour by riding around Austin for 6 weeks?

Ya - L'Equipe has that story about LA not riding the Dauphine or TdS since this morning, but i haven't yet seen anyone else pick it up.
It would seem strrange that L'Equipe would know LAs plans.

Also they said he was to return to France on Monday!
