Moose McKnuckles said:No need to bring Coolhand's thoughts here. The guy tosses more salads than McDonalds.
theswordsman said:That would be massive. Get Kristin to talk, and a couple of named riders doing so in exchange for leniency, and watch the dominoes fall.
My computer was attacked and killed Thursday night, so I'm way behind in reading posts. Forgive me if this is a repeat, but I just remembered what a career Chris Carmichael made for himself due to Armstrong's success. He's sold bunches of training books for people who wanted to "train like Lance".
Moose McKnuckles said:I'm glad you brought up Carmichael's name in here. That guy is another boot-licking fraud who has made a living off really gullible, poorly-informed people.
Oh there´s a whole host of people who´ve been suckling at this teat. Let´s hope that milk is going to go real sour.Moose McKnuckles said:I'm glad you brought up Carmichael's name in here. That guy is another boot-licking fraud who has made a living off really gullible, poorly-informed people.

Basically states what many have thought or hypothesized for some time, UCI must also go down.
Floyd Landis, the cyclist who recently admitted to doping after four years of vehemently denying it, showed up at the Tour of California on Saturday, looking like an important man
Flanked by private security guards wearing bulletproof vests and carrying guns and nightsticks, he was escorted into the hospitality area for the sponsor of his current team, OUCH-Bahati Foundation Pro Cycling, a domestic-level squad that was not invited to this eight-day race.

Digger said:Coolhand's take on things:
"Not really, most of his statements seem a bit detached from reality.
Some "new" thoughts though:
1. The thought that doping may have bigger effects on the personality/stability of the user over the long term. Messing with your system like that (especially hormones/steroids) may have serious long term damage. You see it in American football players for example. And with a few racers we lost as well.
2. I was surprised at the extent and duration of his doping. I always assumed that the pressure of team leadership at Phonak (and the impending hip surgery) led him to dope. I was completely wrong- he was 100% dope made rider. Depressing actually.
3. Tied to #1- the incredibly poor choices he made over the last 4 years. Initially his case was no worse than David Millar's. Only after being caught red handed and forced to admit he doped- Millar got and followed some good advice. Fess up, apologize, do your time and he probably could have come back like Millar and a certain 6 time French TdF KOM winner did. Same with Tyler Hamilton- some very very bad choices and decisions- to the extent you wonder about impairment."
This post leaves me with no other option other than to say that Coolhand, by his own reasoning, has been doping for years, and is now suffering the consequences.![]()
Not sure where you are posting from but from all angles this spells true jeopardy for "Mr. Armstrong".
Ginseng said:Well that is not a given. Right now I just hear one person's word against another. Whilst Armstrong may have lied in his past, there is no doubt Landis did, and he did so publically and repeatedly, and also took their money. He does not possess any real credibility.

As you said - Lance lied in the past, Floyd lied in the past - now they have two seperate versions of the same story.
Do you think the guy with nothing to lose or everything to lose is lying?
theswordsman said:Once again, it's not a popularity contest to see who can get the most people to believe them. Floyd has years worth of detailed training diaries. He's implicated dozens of riders, plus managers and owners. Based on reports today, two of the people named have said they were contacted by an agency about cooperating in exchange for leniency. Another report has Kristen Armstrong, Lances wife, cooperating. They have a top government investigator leading the chase.
People keep saying Lance is the most tested athlete in the world, and has never tested positive. Cycling fans know that the cheaters are always ahead of the testers. Riders were using EPO for years before it would turn up in a test. Well guess what, there's a test now, and there are refrigerators filled with most tested samples. And better yet, Armstrong was half owner in Tailwind Sports. If guys come forward and say that Lance gave then drugs, or pressured then to use drugs, he's still neck deep in it. Watch your favorite TV detective/police/CSI type show, and imagine that the stars are doing everything they can to find evidence on Lance. That's how it could be in real life. Soon.
I'm sure you're just doing your job, but let me pose a question. If Armstrong is arrested and imprisoned, and stripped of some victories, what will be your reaction?
Ginseng said:To answer your last question first, if Armstrong is found guilty, then he should have some or all of his victories removed and he might deserve to be arrested and imprisoned. I would feel the same as always when this happens to an athlete for cheating - sad that they cheated, glad they were caught, and a bit cynical in the processes.
Everything right now about what Floyd is saying behind closed doors is just rumour. Other people coming forward is, right now, rumor. Until this giant wave everyone thinks is going to happen actually happens, it is ... nothing.

Ginseng said:It might be fair to say that Floyd feels slighted because even with doping, he could not beat the world's best...
Elagabalus said:Huh?! Being crowned Tour de France champion, however briefly, shows that Landis could indeed beat the world's best-at least w/ chemical enhancement.
