If you want to see live reactions, go to twitterfall.com and type "Landis" in the search box. Tweets are coming fast and furious.

Here's a little gem from this site-

"GaryM1976 writes- I'm really upset at Landis. Armstrong has so much to lose. If he was a drug cheat it would bring down Livestrong that supports so many people."

yes, after Pierre BORDy makes a sensational announcement about the progress in the 2009 tdf infusiongate investigation.

Excellent. There's no way the UCI can turn down the additional tests now, after the allegations of leniency with Astana. I haven't slept, but it's a good day.

"Landis is already #9 on Twitter Trending Topics for the U.S., and most people are in bed right now.

That's why every athlete should start a foundation. Pure PR genius!

superbus So Floyd Landis goes from "I SWEAR I didn't do it" to "I did it, and so did LANCE~"? Just die, Floyd. Seriously. Go die. You're a bad person

And there are these guys, as well as some demanding refubds for the book.

I hope Floyd is ready to have his name dragged through the mud all over again, because Armstrong is going to start talking some serious jive about him today.

As for JV, he is between a rock and a hard place. I know a lot of people here love to hate him and think that his 'clean' team is dirty, but I think he has done the best job it is possible to do of working to make the sport better from within. If he had made a full confession and implicated Lance five years ago, or even endorsed those chat logs, then he never would have been allowed to manage a Pro-Tour team.

He's in a tricky situation now, because I don't think he can get away with saying that DZ never doped. I'm still not sure he will be able to survive in the sport if he comes clean. Bjarne Riis managed it I suppose, but he was a much more established figure when he told all, and his revelations were about races several years before what we are discussing now.

There was one that said something like "Landis is trying to bring the good ones down with him". Clueless. Absolutely clueless. But then these aren't cycing fans and have no idea about cycling, they're just Lance fans.

I do feel for people who see Lance as a beacon of hope, especially if they are just casual cycling fans or not fans at all. It must be revolting to think of him using a potent cancer therapy drug just to win bike races.

You're not the only one.

And to think I ran into the espn article by accident right before going to sleep.

Now it's 4 a.m. and I can't get off the computer.

Yep. I was ready for bed, but realized I hadn't checked Versus lately for anti-Contador slander. The cycling page showed a forum subject with the WSJ article, and it's been an adrenaline fest ever since.

justinbrennan Floyd Landis has a severe case of sour grapes

I wasn't fast enough for the one about "genuine are the delusions of a finished man."

Yep, but you know how people react to fallen idols, love turns to bitterness and hatred and all that - LA better be ready for a *** storm of millions of people. But deceiving is one thing, using cancer survivors to do it is entirely another. If proven, the level of vitriol would reach new epic proportions, and in that case the guy better run and hide for his own safety.

His days of sha99ing young actresses are also over.

Some weeks ago I went back over some old JV articles - I do think the guy is genuine and was in some way trying to fight the sport from within.

But as Blackcat pointed out earlier now is when we will see peoples principles or lackthereof.

If he does want to change the sport he has to come out and speak up...

First thing I did when I got up was read this thread through. Hilarity.

Also, I am interested to see that ESPN's headline is "Landis admits using PEDs through most of career" and not "Landis accuses Armstrong of being massive ****er"

Get some rest, the Giro starts in a few hours. Nothing else will happen now until LA and The Hog wake up later.

Don't forget the AMGEN Tour Of California....

They must be really really pleased with all this extra attention and on their products too- do they give away 'goodie bags' at the finish?
