Jealous of the pain? You might be one of a few.spalco said:I'm so jealous for those guys, being able to ride in this gorgeous weather and terrain, especially those without any particular objective today other than to arrive within the time limit.
I heard a rider on the radio last week and according to him, riding the gruppetto is far from an easy view-enjoying ride  He was also complaining about riders who are actual climbers but are seemingly taking a day off in the gruppetto, as they apparently tend to disrupt the pace therespalco said:I'm so jealous for those guys, being able to ride in this gorgeous weather and terrain, especially those without any particular objective today other than to arrive within the time limit.

JosephK said:LOL at the break. Quality climbers abound. Genuine talent. Doesn't matter. In the TDF, Sky's domestiques are stronger climbers than the best GC guys on other teams, and the train will grind this down till Froome and GT are launched for the circus finale on L'Alpe d'Huez. Froome 1, GT 2, and the mortals battle it out for 3rd.

He most likely had his preparation completely adjusted to the TDF in the case Froome wouldn't have started, so he's in top shape nowhappytramp said:I've been a bit out of the loop this season.... When the hell did Geraint Thomas basically become the 2nd best climber in the world? Is he really able to drop the likes of Quintana and bardet now?

I remember him doing very well until he crashed into a pole a couple of seasons ago. I'm surprised he's so much better than all the others now though. Is he really that good or have the other GC guys just got way worse? Qunitana hasn't looked quite his old self in the past two seasons
