Giro 2018?

Just turned on the Tour to Pinot crying and I thought they were showing footage from last year.

Wtf happened? Another dramatic Pinot crack?

Contador quitting 2014 killed me. You never want to see this stuff and it’s on tv for everyone to see
Contador was a multiple tdf winner abandoning in the 1st week. Pinot just lost the once in his lifetime chance to win the tour de france two days before Paris. I don't know. Contador was horrible too but this just seems worse.
This is 2016 Kruijswijk & 2007 Rasmussen all over again!

Probably even worse...

He's had a leg injury -- quad or hamstring pull/tear . . . can't push off on the pedals like he needs to. He's eff'd.

At least 07 Rasmussen didn't happen on the road... Being able to see the emotions is x10 worse.

This might be a Cadel Evans case. One day the misfortune will leave him or won't be as severe (Evans on Telegraphe) and he may win the Tour (or other GT race).

I don't know what you mean but as you write it, it was probably an Australian Open final

Edit: Or maybe Ajax vs Tottenham? I'm curious now

Yes, apparently was hit by a motorbike yesterday and now he has serious knee problems. In the end i think he lost the Tour in the crosswinds but heartbreaking setback again for Pinot. Really feel for him.

Eh, he was still 1.50 behind. Kruijswijk and Rasmussen were dominating the field.

What? When? During the stage? He wasn't having any knee issues yesterday. Wow, he is cursed.

Who's the highest placed rider in the break?

What has happened to Kwiatkowski this Tour? And why has Moscon not found his climbing legs since that Vuelta?

Must be horrible, the feeling that you're in such a good condition but your body can't coope. He practilly rode himself into injury by being so 'strong'. (Unless he got hit, which I just read here above my post.)

Haunting sight, Pinot's abandon in tears. Get well Thibaut.

Sir Dave will have to get his kicking boots on after the Tour.

On a lighter note, after the Pinot tragedy, at least Ineos will win another Tour. :(
That's the ultimate disaster. Thomas' chances to win the Tour have just gone up dramatically. Bernal won't be allowed to react. Steven K. and Buchmann are only interested in a place of honour. Pinot was the guy who closed the gap on Thomas yesterday. The others didn't even react.

2000 Sydney Olympics in the 50km Walk Aussie Jane Saville was ahead by minutes about to walk into the stadium and she got DQed. I can still hear the scream at night

I'm pretty sure he wasn't crying because he was ill or in pain. There is no "getting well" from this. It was his biggest shot at winning, and he didn't get the chance to go for it. Maybe we'll look back in ten years and see that this was the only shot he ever had.
