Without having any desire to indulge in mad conspiracy theories, it seems a pretty big coincidence that this emerges within two weeks of Henao being pulled, BC's institutional sexism being revealed, and allegations of corruption and financial malpractice coming to the surface. Without knowing what he's been popped for and what his response is, I suspect it's unlikely that he will cop a full four year ban. If he does though, in a few years time we will get to see whether a four year ban is effectively a life ban when it is given to someone who is in theory young enough to come back without having missed his peak years. At the moment that isn't clear.

Yeah, mostly for confessing to his doping after his ban. Anyway, you need to remember that Millar's ban came in the Dark Era when the British public didn't care about cycling and those that had casual contact with it assumed they were all doping. This is the New Clean Era, in which doping is no longer necessary or even helpful, as we can see from the success of Clean British Riders. What does this say to the public about the credibility of BC/Sky? The climate's very different today compared to 10 years ago.

A key part of the narrative used by riders who have successfully been embraced as reformed crusaders is that they fell victim to temptation during the bad old days when everyone is at it. That narrative isn't viable for British riders at the moment because it means declaring that the bad old days never ended and, therefore, that British successes came during the bad old days.

Nothing worse than jumping to conclusions. Impey tested positive and got away, people don't even remember it now mostly. At least Orica have experienced men in those regards

The doctor is Manuel Rodriguez. Formerly Quickstep, ONCE and Mapei.
Their hiring policy includes names knee-deep in the Puerto scandal like Plaza and old dopers like Danielle Nardello, Matt White, Neil Stephens, Lorenzo Lapage or Stuey. Few teams have such a collection of positive tests and admitted dopers on staff.
