Well that didn't take long:

"Yates along with his brother joined the Australian UCI World Tour team Orica–GreenEDGE in 2014.[3] He finished 12th Overall in one of his first World Tour races, the Tour of the Basque Country. Yates suffered a broken collarbone on Stage 3 of the Tour of Turkey.[12] He recovered to take seventh overall and the Young Riders Classification in the Tour of Slovenia in June. He was a surprise selection for the Orica Greenedge team for the 2014 Tour de France, with only 5 days notice, and was one of only 4 British riders to take to the Grand Depart startline in Leeds.[13] Yates featured in two breakaways during his Grand Tour debut, before being withdrawn by his team on the second rest day.[14]

DRUGS ENHANCED HIS PERFORMANCE. He's a f*****g drug cheat"

EDIT: already been deleted.

This is bad news for a lot of people. Yates himself. His brother, who rightly or wrongly will take a hit to his own image. Orica-Greenedge, who suddenly go from an overperforming team to a suspiciously overperforming team. British Cycling, who need this at the moment like they need a nail through the skull.

Without having any desire to indulge in mad conspiracy theories, it seems a pretty big coincidence that this emerges within two weeks of Henao being pulled, BC's institutional sexism being revealed, and allegations of corruption and financial malpractice coming to the surface. Just the Mail building up its story (presumably with a new source) or something more...?

Damn, pretty pissed that one of my favorite riders from my favorite team tested positive. Hopefully it's isolated and not OGE. Feel bad for Adam if he was clean

Certainly very bad for the Yates twins ..not just one but both as everyone knows how close they are
British rider may dope like anyone but I think the repercussions with the public will be greater...If conformed then his career is pretty much done

This the same public that worships David Millar?

Without knowing what he's been popped for and what his response is, I suspect it's unlikely that he will cop a full four year ban. If he does though, in a few years time we will get to see whether a four year ban is effectively a life ban when it is given to someone who is in theory young enough to come back without having missed his peak years. At the moment that isn't clear.

Yeah, mostly for confessing to his doping after his ban. Anyway, you need to remember that Millar's ban came in the Dark Era when the British public didn't care about cycling and those that had casual contact with it assumed they were all doping. This is the New Clean Era, in which doping is no longer necessary or even helpful, as we can see from the success of Clean British Riders. What does this say to the public about the credibility of BC/Sky? The climate's very different today compared to 10 years ago.

It sure puts Adam in a terrible position, starting tomorrow - couldn't have picked a worse time to race at home.

Is he the 'control' in his twin's doping experiment, or not? He's damned if he does well in any race and damned if he doesn't.

A key part of the narrative used by riders who have successfully been embraced as reformed crusaders is that they fell victim to temptation during the bad old days when everyone is at it. That narrative isn't viable for British riders at the moment because it means declaring that the bad old days never ended and, therefore, that British successes came during the bad old days.

Edited to add: Beaten to it by Cannibal72!

Let's wait and see dude.

Nothing worse than jumping to conclusions. Impey tested positive and got away, people don't even remember it now mostly. At least Orica have experienced men in those regards :D

There have been whispers among amateurs for at least a decade that Shayne Bannan was doping kids at the AIS. He's the manager.
The doctor is Manuel Rodriguez. Formerly Quickstep, ONCE and Mapei.
Their hiring policy includes names knee-deep in the Puerto scandal like Plaza and old dopers like Danielle Nardello, Matt White, Neil Stephens, Lorenzo Lapage or Stuey. Few teams have such a collection of positive tests and admitted dopers on staff.

Everyone that works in cycling and rode in 1990s and 2000s is related to doping. Does it really matter?

Almost some DSs in every WT team will have connection to doping.

What is cycling supposed to do? Purge all cyclists from 90-00s era and let University Sport Science graduates take over the sport?

Yes it matters.
First things first, you have millions of doctors on the planet, why specifically hire a hematologist with experience of 1990s cycling?
