Hey Flicker found this in my e-mail box this morning !!!

Dear Chuck,

Thirteen years ago today, I was diagnosed with cancer. Every year since then, October 2 has served as a reminder to me that even though cancer left my body, it will always be a part of my life.

And thanks to the commitment of LIVESTRONG supporters like you, what was a personal anniversary is now a day that the entire community can rally around. It’s a day when we come together and wear yellow, attend events and renew our commitment to fight cancer for as long as it takes—and to do our part to raise awareness of the 28 million people fighting cancer worldwide.

LIVESTRONG Day is a declaration that we won’t quit and we won’t retreat. That’s why events today will have a real impact by making our voice even louder:

http://www.livestrong.org/livestrongday

With each passing year, it becomes clearer that one day we’ll reach our goal of a world without cancer.

So many survivors are standing tall right now. So many friends, family members, and supporters are providing the strength and courage it takes to fight this disease.

The world needs to hear that defeating cancer is our highest priority. I appreciate all that you’re doing today to make that global statement loud and clear.

Thanks,

Lance Armstrong

P.S. Watch this powerful video LIVESTRONG put together showing what this day means—and carry this message with you today: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hL8mCjS0Noc

...no confusion here...no siree...more like this perhaps?...

pe·danti·cal·ly adv.
Synonyms: pedantic, academic, bookish, donnish, scholastic
These adjectives mean marked by a narrow, often tiresome focus on or display of learning and especially its trivial aspects: a pedantic writing style; an academic insistence on precision; a bookish vocabulary; donnish refinement of speech; scholastic and excessively subtle reasoning.

Yes - you are confused. maybe your wife can help?

You looked up 'google' for pedantically but used the synonyms.
A synonym:
–noun
1. a word having the same or nearly the same meaning as another in the language, as joyful, elated, glad.

When you shoud just have used the definition of the word 'pedantically':
–adjective
1. ostentatious in one's learning.
2. overly concerned with minute details or formalisms, esp. in teaching.

Thanks, I take it as a compliment. I would much rather be pedantic than confused. I hope you learned something.

Cheers

This is a fantastic message. Truly, I mean that. Armstrong inspired me at a difficult point in my life, and I relate to those he inspires. Where that money goes or the way the foundation run aside, the message at the highest level is powerful.

However. Let's be clear that the fantastic content of this message has NOTHING to do with cycling, doping, or the thread topic, who was the last clean winner of the Tour. Nothing.

Red I know and the Mods can clear it off. I just thought it ironic to put it in the Lemond last rider to win clean. I couldn't help myself sorry to offend anyone here with it .

(...just had this image pop into my head....Familiars getting blind drunk and running thru the streets screaming at the top of their lungs....Greg I love you...I want to bear your children....too bad Second City is off the air and John Candy is dead because that would be the basis for one awesome sketch....)

....ooops... now back to reality.... its funny, in another part of this forum, people are accusing Andy Schleck of being a doper for actually having a audacity of producing a similar miracle...you know sucking wind then roaring like a race horse then becoming a mule again...maybe some of the Loyal Regiment of Familiars should rush over and straighten out those non-believers who are getting on Andy's case...after-all miracles can happen...right ????

That was all really keen, and the use of ellipsis is tremendous. I particularly liked the completely unrelated inclusion of Andy Schleck. Flawless logic that.

Let us know when you're done with the noise and you have some evidence of doping...it would actually be interesting.

I find it interesting to contemplate WHY Greg is the last "Clean" Rider to ever win the Tour de France.

Part of the answer lies with Greg himself. After all, it was Greg that encouraged the use of one of the biggest Performance Enhancing Tools available to man. No, I do not mean Iron Shots lol.

I mean Money. Greg undoubtably raised the Bar on GT DangerMen Salaries and Sponsorship Deals. Even adjusting for inflation, riders like Eddy and Bernard never were paid the moola of superstar riders post Greg.

Who can argue that dopers do it in large part for the money

Maybe deep down Greg feels a bit responsible, and his crusade against doping is in response to this guilt?

Doubt it. IMO, he is just does NOT like Lance:(

Contador hit 6.7 w/kg last year, a number hit or exceeded by most winners in the last 15 years. That is a huge leap from any rider pre EPO.

That was just one, short climb and he wasn't close to that number on any other stage. Why don't you work out the avg W/kg on all final climbs from this year and see how far down the GC you have to go before finding someone avg 5.7? The answer is, not very.

Oh, and btw, Merckx sustained 455 watts for 1h in a lab test in 1975.

...you are so nice to say that about my use of ellipsises...it was just something I spotted a while ago and understood immediately that it had this stream of consciousness, dialoguey thang that is so appropriate to the inter-net...so I jumped right on it and been working hard to perfect it ever since...

...and man when I am in my groove zigging and zagging I feel like I'm the second coming of Melodious Thunk...and youse guys here on this forum really have to get a pat the back because youse really inspire me...like I do my best work here...so thanks a lot...

Rumour about Lemond using EPO

I know where the rumour that Greg Lemond used EPO in 1989 came from. A former US pro who raced in the 80s and 90s told a few people that he 'thought' Greg Lemond used EPO in 1989. He didn't know, it was only opinion. Somehow over the last 20 years that has turned into 'there is a rumour that Greg Lemond used EPO' as if there are a few people who 'knew about it'.

Other than the above mentioned opinion turned rumour, I can say that I was not aware of any linking of doping and Lemond while he was racing.

No, it came from Armstrong.

When Greg said he was disappointed that Armstrong was using Ferrari Lance called him. He threatened to find 10 people who would say the Greg took EPO.

Almost 10 years later and he has yet to find one. lance's offer is up to $300,000.

That would be an impressive statement - but like most of your posts it is factually incorrect.

Which stage was LeMond "dropped from the gruppetto"?
How do you finish in the top 40 if you can't hang in with the gruppetto?

the LA fanboy crew won't give it up. No evidence, nada, niente, zip, zilch and still they spew it out all because their little boy couldn't play fair.

well off you all go back to Pubic Stratalies and try and come up with another angle, because no matter how much you try, LA tries, UCI and Paddy McMofo tries, it aint gonna work because in case you haven't realised in your own small mindedness, that when it comes to champions(LeMond) questioning other champions who are fakes(Pharmastrong) you had better be clean as a whistle or someone will blow you out of the water.

Lemond retired in 1994, 16 years ago. I think if he doped we'd have heard about it by now.

...interesting you say that LeMond that retired in 1994 because that is factually wrong...so which/whose PR firm are you working for?...spreading barefaced lies like that you should be ashamed of yourself...muddying the waters...being an agent of foreign powers...feh!...
