It is quite suspicious how many teamates of Lance have been dirty. I was also disappointed when discovery team contracted Basso. He and Savodelli reek doing.
Maybe they work for reduced contract because of being known dopers?
No I am not angry with Lance for not exposing dopers. I guess many do not understand that doping is part of the amateur and professional cyclingsport.
As a matter of fact I shall call doping a tradition of cycling.
The way to stop it is to sponsor clean junior and U-23 teams.
My ex wife who is now deceased was in rehab. I went to the N/A meetings with her. If you want a real insight on the psychology of doping I recommend attending 4 N/A meetings.
I don't give creedence to the graphs and charts. To stop doping in cycling cycling needs to remove the incentive to not dope.
That is what I wish Greg LeMond would realize.
PS Gregs sur-name is LeMond.(Scotish) If he were French it would be Lemonde. There is no name Lemond. Did Hinault and Fignon return any tittles
?

Yet you are angry at Lemond.

Maybe you'd be better off reading up on the topics discussed....education and knowledge can be a great thing...amazing how it opens the eyes...

I really hope Greg reads my posts because so much of what is discussed in the thread by me is personal, and he and I have walked the same road.
In my career I have seen so many cheats and so many drug cheats that I am cynical about his legal case.
Guy needs to get some healing bottom line.
The end of his Trek lawsuit will only spawn 16 more.
No changing human nature.

If you're aying what I think you are, then I genuinely feel for you. I disagree with certain points you've made here and the tone with which they were made, but on a human level, I wish you well. ;)

Remove Tour wins from dopers. That goes for all races dopers have raced in. All their placings.
Sue riders for all sponsorship earnings.
Return Olympic and World championship medals.
Have governments where they earned their livings do complete tax audit on riders.
Lifetime ban from attending cycling events.
These penalties go for all living riders addmitted dopers or caught dopers.
All current cyclists positive receive lifetime bans. Automatic prison terms for doping Doctors and dope providers. No court no judges or juries. Its off to jail you go and you can pay for your own lodging. That goes for all sports first one I would target is Andre Agassi.I would but Kohls' KOM jersey to clean my greasy bike chain with.

You've got some issues with due process and how a civilized society treats the accused. You should probably think about those things sometimes.

Sorry about you walking in GL's shoes. It must suck going thru life with bird shot stuck in your head. Take care.

WTH? I was just thinking there had to be an explanation for his posts, and this seemed logical from the GL angle. Have you read his posts, or do you just automatically go into attack mode towards me?

Anyway, sorry if I offended.

Yes it was a "no win" having anything to do with Lemond.

Lemond will price himself too high for a reasonable settlement which will ultimately work against him at trial.

So GL will end up with a "no win" when it comes to his mouth. He'll settle with a hush clause, or will be forced to cease by the court.

Oh yeah don't forget to provide those Lemond distributor references.

you really should read the lemond complaint, otherwise you just look foolish

Gregs going to look foolish no matter what he says or does in court.
The other thing I don't do is Turkey hunt with my brother in law nor do I quail hunt with Vice President Cheney.

I'm sure they were both very disappointed when you turned them down.

Moral: Blogging causes amnesia.
I see what you mean. I had to fly from NY to CA meet my lawyer in the lobby of the court house shake hands and go into court. Never gave him any money before and had never met him before that day. Talked to him for 10 minutes 3 days before hearing. Some property that my Grandmother owned was being sold for a tax debt @3 1/2 years after she died. Nobody notified anybody, but they did send tax notices to her house for 3 years after she died. The new owner was throwing the mail away. Lance probably had a guy go there it's not so uncommon.

If you're so knowledgeable about the Lemond complaint, please cite examples in the complaint that contadict my remarks and make me look foolish.

You really should refrain from labeling & bullying as if you're an authority.

To be fair he does know what he is talking about, and is merely frustrated with certain people on here. The reality is that these people that he, and I, are frustrated with, rarely find things out for themselves, and rely on twitter updates, press releases and the odd cycling website for their information. For someone who has huge background in the sport, as this person does, then it is very frustrating dealing with such ignorance. Harsh maybe, but not a patch on the people who label Greg Lemond as 'jealous, a loser, bitter, irrational and a stalker'.

You might want to actually read the complaint as it answers some of the questions you pretend do not have an answer.

A good example is the Lemond Distributor question that you have babbled about. If you read the complaint you will see that Greg gave Trek information on distributors in numerous European companies that were interested in carrying his brand. The compliant cites specifically the French Trek distributor who approached Lemond personally because he wanted to carry LeMond bikes in France as Greg is very popular in France. This distributor was told by Trek that they were not interested as they were "Winding down the Lemond Brand". This was almost 4 years before Greg's contract was up with Trek and already dealers were being told that they were no longer going to support band.

Why do you think Greg is being a "weenie."

What do you think Armstrong is being?

I can tell you my local dealer absolutely trashed LeMond and his bikes when I first moved here and went in looking. That was in 2004 as well. This after buying a LeMond in Gregg's cycles Seattle in 1998 who raved about them, and sold tons of them. It was a great, great bike that I rode like a banshee 1200 miles through France and over 4 mountain ranges (Ardennes, Vosges, Jura, Alps).

I was shocked by the local BS's attitude here in Redwood City. Struck me as really, really odd.

Abso-frickin-lutely.
While about 10% of this thread (and the other one) involves actual fact-based debate, the rest is just empty contrarian posturing, with no attempt to research and learn.

When the carbon Triomphe frame came out, I never saw a single one stocked in a Trek dealer store through the time the brand was yanked.

It was not just the Euro dealers who were told in 2004 they were killing the Brand the US stores were told the same thing.

At the time the Lemond Frames were by far the best frames the Trek made. The Tete de Course was an amazing frame.

Well, they fit me and the Treks never have--I have a super long torso.

I was forced to get a used Merckx MXM. So it all worked out. :)

Whatever frame you like or fit, they were great bikes. Never ridden anything to this day that handled descents like that LeMond. Broke 55 mph several times descending in the Alps and Jura, and was comfortable doing it.
