I believe they are finishing with the exact same mountain time trial as in the VaC, which should suit Rujano down to a T.Ryo Hazuki said:yeah. I will make a topic for it soon. rujano will participate!! and he's been getting to great form as he showed in vuelta tovar where he won 2 stages
Duartista said:I was very surprised that Jaramillo, Ramirez and Jeffrey Romero were all left out of the Avenir team in the end. The only reason I could think of was that they wanted guys who would work on the flat rather than secondary GC threats (wrt Ja
ramillo and Romero; Ramirez they maybe thought was too young).
Lupetto said:Maybe Jaramillo is injured? He is also left out of the line-up for Clásico RCN.

Talking of roadblocks; 25 teams of 8 is quite a hefty field for a first edition!
Yeah, you are probably right. The reason I mentioned Jaramillo, Romero, and Ramirez though was because they were in the pre-selection and did some tests with CEP, so presumably they had permission from their teams to take part.Ryo Hazuki said:it's all politics. guys like jaramillo and beltran will not work for quintana as they think they should win avenir instead. they are respected as the top u23 riders in their teams gobernacion and epm-une and with reason, while quintana is from colombia es passion, colombian teams usually aren't on friendly terms with each other.
I was personally most disapointed with no ronald gomez in the team. he is most allround and is a reader of gw shimano u23 squad. it's already special that 3 riders from 3 different top teams are joing cep here in avenir so they were sure to select guys from boyaca like rodriguez and camacho that would surly work for quintana. william valencia is a dark horse but he crashed hard before the race and already lost lots of time.

Well, to be fair they are the only team who are part of the bio-passport, which takes up a quarter of their budget, and Botero hiring Ignacio Labarta as trainer is pretty dodgy.Ryo Hazuki said:yeah they had, but cep didn't want them... also has to do with cep being totally paranoia over doping, for once they are sure jaramillo is doped and basically say all are doped but them. at the end of the year thought facts are, gob and epm rode very well in results outside of colombia and cep have virtually no results. and they all get tested
I'm not saying that they are doped, just that the ex-Kelme links are reasonable grounds for suspicion. It's unfortunate because they have a great record of bringing through young riders.Ryo Hazuki said:yeah but they are complete paranoid and have no experience or knowledge of cycling and tactics. saldarriaga comes from track and is a great trainer but no director and luisa is good manager but also paranoid about everything outside her team. if gob was so doped then explain failure of them in vuelta colombia. also about botero, I know he rode with kelme but he has been acquited of everything by both colombian federation and uci in the same way davis and contador got it for instance.
