I think it was. DE sent the wrong guy on the attack. They couldn't predict when the elastic snapped, but it should have been the others taking turns attacking. I thought both Chavanel and Gaudin looked stronger when the trio bridged to the attackers. Petit was struggling all the way. But judging by the finish, he could have smoked that sprint if he didn't attack.

Besides Viviani another veronese sprinter won today agaist no less than a third sprinter from verona.

I don't know what's sadder: the fact that the driedaagse de panne has become one day, or that they still haven't changed their name, apparently in denial
