Could have been an interesting finale, Lopez looked super strong.

Valverde had attacked 2-4(?) times so I think he'll be more cagy in Lombardia and that this ride will benefit him.

Seems like polemica can't escape FDJ whatever they do.

A win that was long overdue for Thibaut Pinot, and aside from the unfortunate incident, a superb display from FDJ and especially Gaudu.

Valverde's strategy was perfectly logical based on the fact that Valverde is Valverde and Milan Torino isn't a WT race

No, but if your opponent crashes into your teammate (mistake of both) you don't have to attack directly as well. This forum would have gone nuts if Moscon made this move.

Anyhow, Pinot was the strongest today and a win in an Italian classic was coming for him. Chapeau.

No, but if your opponent crashes into your teammate (mistake of both) you don't have to attack directly as well. This forum would have gone nuts if Moscon made this move.

Valverde was already dropped (thats why Lopez was looking back I guess), so Pinot was alone, so he didnt attack anyone

Pinot attacking was the direct consequence of Gaudu finishing his work.

Gaudu is done swings to his right, MAL is not looking in front and crashes into Gaudu. Valverde is in the process of getting dropped, Pinot is now in front looks back and accelerates. All normal.

btw about Gaudu, good to see him finally step up again.. it doesn't show in the result, but he was better than Bernal today for the first time since ages :razz:

What surprised me was that Egan was already much than better Moscon, despite only riding in his third race in more than two months.

Poor Moscon. Looks like he has to do China, too. For now he is on the startlist.
