It was quite funny that this seemingly very random duo also fought it out on the Pratonevoso last year in the Giro. Back then, Schachmann also easily won the sprint, where Cattaneo screwed up so much that Rubén Plaza got back and got the second place. But it was a Schachmann-Cattaneo duel all the way up the climb.
