Hofstetter broke his steering wheel again in Denain.

Chaos on the muddy/wet cobbled sections. A lot of crashes, even motorbikes.

Now Bianchi issued a statement to Hofstetter‘s two broken handlebars within 20 kilometers.

They say the handlebar is safe and was tested and certified. On the other hand, they say it is to be expected that massive impacts cause the handlebar to break.

When van der Poels Canyon handlebar broke a while ago, in a race, Canyon told customers and racers to stop using it, until the problem is solved. Now Bianchi doesn‘t demand this.

Did Hofstetter crash, or did his two handlebars break from just racing fastly on the cobbles?

Think we all know why. They can, but I don't like it. Definitely knowing jury doesn't let the cars behind the peloton while it was split due to a crash and not due to some teams trying to cause echelons.

Jury definitely gave an armchair, out of the wind, behind the car ride to Quickstep today, pretty clear they didn't want the local favorites stuck behind. They were like 1 minute or more behind and then they were just there. In the end it didn't matter much, but if that was Roglic crashing, they would have made a barrage in a matter of seconds.

Looking at the weather reports, it seems that there is a big chance of similar edition this year tho. 35km/u winds expected. Also pretty bad weather for Harelbeke but that's still 6 days so could change

A Swede won a race!

Hjalmar Klyver just won the second stage of Tour of Rhodes.

Wincent Wallinder is also at the race and is in a good position so far. He finished 5th yesterday and was in the first group today. Him and Hjalmar are the same age. There is also Isak Magnusson but he is two years younger. All riding for Team IBT - Tripeak. Hope they could develop further.

Behind Ludvigsson, who is getting older, there have been very few Swedish riders in the peloton in recent years. The Eriksson brothers have made it through to a higher level, but that took some time and there hasnt been many others for a while. Hopefully it will be more riders in the future making through to the pros.

Per Sempre Alfredo is tomorrow, which means the European debut for Jonathan Guatibonza. Not sure what he'll be worth whilst getting used to the speeds and standards overseas, but as far as intrinsic quickness goes, this kid is FAAAAAST.

Diego Pescador also among the starters, had some nice duels with Morgado and Magnier in Lunigiana last year.

Yeah alteast it's not just 13 like it was on PCS and FirstCycling earlier today, but quality is still one of the worst of the year in Europe I would say.
