in other news indeed, though, the finishing location on today's PSC/LFR profile for Turkey doesn't seem to be correct. In the roadbook, the finish is ~400m earlier, meaning the final bump is only half as long.

Just had a sneak look at tomorrow's Tour of Turkey stage up to Babadag - holy cr*p Batman! Most of Astana look like they might go home early OTL as will a whole lot of others.

Despite Bora spending all of the final 6k attacking, it came back together for an uphill sprint, with Philipsen coming around Bol in the final 50 metres.

Why can't philipson just go in his off-season, honestly mate you've had by far the best season of your career, you have nothing to prove. You are the best sprinter in the world and you come to this race for bardiani riders, Astana riders, Eolo riders and the novo nordisk boys, and rob them of important victories. Go on holiday with your girlfriend or something.

Anyway funny how carlton kirby can recognise Cees bol winning in champs elysees when he wasn't involved, but can't recognise him when he leads the sprint for 150m till the line in clear view today

He wanted to have the most victories this year. +2 already. But Pogi won Lombardia so how many does he needs now?

5, because Superman sits lonely at the top at 21.
Only if you count KOM and points jerseys, though.

Also most of those were in .2 races, so one more win and Philipsen does ensure he's won the most pro races this season (albeit only by virtue of a lot of late-season statpadding which kind of dilutes it as an achievement).

Stat padding by beating .2 competition or by swerving .1 competition out of earth orbit, gotta win one way or another.

Hot take UAE should try to put Philpsen OTL tomorrow to save the most wins stat for Pog.

Do people really care that much about that statistic? IMO only sprinters care about the number of wins.

A reasonable decision considering the toughness of the final climb which could be the hardest of all time. It will take around an hour for the top riders to reach the top and it is easy to imagine some riders losing 35 or 40 minutes on this very climb - 18.2km at 10.8% is a brute of a climb.

30% will up the time limit to around one hour, though. Sure, half of it would have been a problem for some, especially when dropped before already - but I can't really see how that is reason enough to increase it. Especially not by that much.
