No. Highlights only.

Rai Sport 2 17.30

?

Unless Rai Sport 2 changed their schedule last minute (wouldn't be unheard of), Giro D'Emilia is live from 14.55 local.

I'm watching it now on the Rai Sport 2 stream. It says Giro dell'Emilia on the caption but it looks like they have had quite a lot of rain and rule changes because everyone looks to be throwing a ball around a swimming pool. Women's waterpolo it is, then...

So the organizers (and Roundabout) were right all along. Reports that Rai cancelled live coverage. Highlights from 17.30. Oh well...

Emilia is really suffering from the moving of Lombardia. These other Italian Autumn races all feed off Lombardia and for those that now fall after the main event there is very little incentive to ride. Only 5 World Tour teams are in the race this year (not even last year's winner's team). Compare that to 10 for Milan-Turin the other side of Lombardia. There is a reason there are no cobbled races after Roubaix and no hilly one day races after Liege - they have much less of a purpose for the quality riders after the main event. It's a shame because Emilia is a really old race with some great past winners - started 1909. Piemonte (started 1906) was cancelled this year. I like Strade Bianche but I would rather see these races back to their old level than see a new race around Rome with a strange name.

I understand why they felt 3 weeks was too long between Worlds and Lombardia, but maybe they should think about moving it to two weeks instead of one.

Weekend 1 - Worlds RR
Midweek - Milan-Turin (or Piemonte) / Paris-Bourges / B-T-B
Weekend 2 - Emilia / Paris-Tours
Midweek - Piemonte (or Milan-Turin)
Weekend 3 - Lombardia

It's not perfect but at least it gives Italy more of an Autumn classics season. As for Beijing... personally I couldn't care less. Something else for Cookson to sort out.

I just watched the highlights on RAI.

Villella attacked on the steepest part, got a decent gap but then Ulissi dragged himself and the others to him. CAS was really suffering on the steep but as soon as the road got easier he caught the top group (Villella, Ulissi, Bongiorno, an impressive Zardini and Pellizzotti) and sprinted, followed only by Ulissi and Villella. Ulissi was just too strong.

A bigger engine will come with the years. In 2012 he finished already in the top 10 of FW, so next year he will (most likely) be there in the finals of LBL and Lombardy and really play a big role.

Rebellin sadly is getting to old :(

He is still very young, he can develop the 'enginge' needed for tougher races.

Definitively, the guy clearly has lots of talent just imo not enough to lead over Costa at the ardennes next year. Except on FW where he is better as it is a simple uphill sprint.

FW is like 180k long or something like that, there is a big difference between FW and LBL which is 70 or 80k longer.
