I see, I don't know a ton about him since as far as I know most of his racing has probably been in Colombia. What kind of rider is he?

he was with boyaca track team and he's a puncher. completely different from quintana who isn't explosive and also less natural technical

Modolo's a fast kid, yet he doesn't have the head of a champ, and tends to get very discouraged in a blink.
Maybe he'll get better with the years, and will become a nice classic rider...maybe.

Very promising start of the season.
Moving to Lampre probably helped his confidence.

Just heard that EBH was the fastest rider up Puig Major on Sky's training camp, so perhaps it's not such a bad bet anyway...

Apparently EBH himself believes he can be competitive today:

I would be very impressed if EBH can follow the climbers today, think puig Major might be too long for Edvald. My bet is Costa or Uran.

A classics rider in good shape can sometimes challenge the climbers on Mallorca, I remember Langeveld doing well here once as well.
