Betancour, Uran and Quintana sure, but whom else has impressed us really? Duarte has been awful, Henao was sub par last year etc.
But yea, EBH has stagnated/woresened over the last couple of years.

how many colombians were in wt? 5-6? almost all of them have great results. henao bad year? he still finished top 20 in wt ranks. there's not a country with a higher rider number/points ratio than colombia by far.

No, I said that given the race situation (Henao in a break with Kwiatkowski), it would've been better to aim for a bunch sprint with EBH. Even you will have to admit that Henao had close to zero chance of beating Kwiatkowski after they had passed the top of Puig Major. It's not like he'll beat him in a sprint.

Before the race, however, Henao was definitely a more logical bet.

you can never know. kwiat is much faster but henao is also very fast. no team in their right mind would chase a 1 vs 1 situation

After about 55km, group with about 60s:

Anton, Plaza, Pauwels, Landa, Meier, Van den Broek, Cardoso, Mederel, Txurruka, Machado, Van Zyl, Miguez and Del Pino

Ticker here: https://twitter.com/unisportprensa

Ulissi also trying to bridge, if I understand correctly.

Race is on.

Complete group:

Anton, Plaza, Pauwels, Ulissi, Landa, Meier, Van den Broek, Cardoso, Mederel, Txurruka, Machado, Van Zyl, Miguez y Del Pino

Sky leading the peloton.

(give me 5 or 6 men teams please)

Last year you were saying the same about Henao when he had to go head to head with Valverde. He was blown away there, and Kwiatek with his ability to place himself in fast bunch sprints would've smoked Henao in the sprint as well yesterday. And with Vakoc in the break, Henao would've had a hard time breaking away himself, his best chance at victory.

Machado dropped on the descent :D Sky is having this race controlled very tight.

I blame the size of the teams here.

Still the break power forced some racing on the climbs etc.

After 127km, group of 40 in front.

+1 minute

Second peloton.
