I know it is a dangerous comparison, but Küng really, really reminds me of Cancellara. The sheer power, but good style on the bike as well and the huge engine he has. Will be interesting to see if he has the natural talent for cobbles as well.

In their webpage they post: GP Miguel Indurain, La Rioja and Giro Belvedere, but looking at results, startlists and race websites they are not there.

Instead, they seem to be in Rio Grande do Sul (2.2): http://www.cbc.esp.br/voltars2015/equipes.htm starting on April 8

Well he will at least be an amazing time trialist in the future. Maybe giving Tony Martin a tough time in the future.

I think Dumoulin can do that as well.

I believe Küng has tremendous potential in the classics as well. Will be exciting to see.

Don't know about this huge engine - how is it showing in his case?

Küng certainly has an engine up to 200 km. He attacked from far yesterday and kept pulling away from his chasers even when they went full gas sometimes. The hilly terrain also didn't suit him particularly well with his weight.(>80kg) All in all pretty impressive.

Vuelta a La Rioja (1.1). Ended as predicted in a sprint. Green Edge did the work to pull back the break, because they had the strongest sprinters in the field, which was mostly made up of the riders set for País Vasco and who did the GP Big Mig yesterday, and so it proved as they took a 1-2 in a flat race mostly shorn of riders who are capable in flat races.

1 Caleb Ewan (Orica-Green Edge) AUS
2 Daryl Impey (Orica-Green Edge) RSA +m.t.
3 Andrea Palini (Sky Dive Dubai) ITA +m.t.
4 Carlos Barbero Cuesta (Caja Rural-Seguros RGA) ESP +m.t.
5 Jesús Herrada López (Movistar Team) ESP +m.t.
6 Alejandro Valverde Belmonte (Movistar Team) ESP +m.t.
7 Sergey Shilov (Lokosphinx) RUS +m.t.
8 Jan Brockhoff (AWT-Greenway) GER +3"
9 Andrea Peron (Team Novo Nordisk) ITA +m.t.
10 Unai Intziarte Muñoz (Murias Taldea) ESP +m.t.

Yes, he's fairly quietly picking up a lot of results this year, thanks to the Herald Sun Tour and Langkawi he's picking up a lot of CQ points. If GreenEdge are smart with the races they send him to and don't overwork him, he could be this year's van Asbroeck, catching the eye due to collecting huge success in the small-to-mid sized races before bringing him to some bigger races next year.

Paris-Camembert, which for some reason doesn't even start remotely near Paris so as to arrive in Camembert (actually Vimoutiers) from a completely different direction:

2 Pierrick Fedrigo (Brétagne-Séché Environment) FRA
3 Samuel Dumoulin (Ag2r-La Mondiale) FRA
4 Kevin Ledanois (Brétagne-Séché Environment) FRA
5 Yukiya Arashiro (Team Europcar) JPN
6 Maxime Renault (Auber 93) FRA
7 Christian Mager (Cult Energy Pro Cycling) GER
8 Anthony Géslin (FDJ) FRA
9 Sébastien Delfosse (Wallonie-Bruxelles) BEL
10 Evaldas Siskevicius (Team Marseille 13-KTM) LTU

:I went past some posh cyclists yesterday on Finchley High Road and soloed home alone for a well deserved win ,,,,does that count :D

Tour du Maroc: Sky Dive continue their stranglehold on the race with Edgar Pinto taking the win in a surprising sprint from a reduced group of around 30 in stage 3, Vlad Gusev holds on to the leader's jersey.

1 Edgar Pinto (Sky Dive Dubai) POR 3'45'47
2 Justin Jules (Veranclassic-Ekoi) FRA +m.t.
3 Filip Eidsheim (Team Fixit.no) NOR +m.t.
4 José Carlos Ragonessi Guzmán (Team Ecuador) ECU +m.t.
5 Yannick Mayer (Bike Aid-Ride for Help) GER +m.t.
6 Tomasz Marczyński (Törku-Seker Spor) POL +m.t.
7 Ahmet Örken (Törku-Seker Spor) TUR +m.t.
8 Vladimir Gusev (Sky Dive Dubai) RUS +m.t.
9 Essaïd Abelouache (Morocco) MAR +m.t.
10 Nabil Baz (Vélo Club Sovac d'Algérie) ALG +m.t.

Gusev's lead is 1" over El-Abdia and 14" over Marczyński. Others of importance behind are Edgar Pinto @ 1'29", Soufiane Haddi @ 1'36", Adil Jelloul and Abdelatif Saâdoune at 1'45", Kevin Seeldraeyers @ 1'53". After the top 15, everybody is at over 8 minutes.

The Easter weekend saw the first UCI U23 races of the year in Italy. Both on hilly parcours and both with slightly outsiders winning solo ahead of the bigger names:

Trofeo Piva

5° Loic Vliegen (BMC Development)

So some of 2014's most impressive U23 big guns are firing already again: Power, Mühlberger, Herklotz, Vliegen. Noteworthy is Lennard Kämna's performance. Top 20 yesterday, Top 10 today - a superb debut in the U23 ranks for last year's best junior rider.

Stage 2a:
Roux takes the win from a break of three 5 seconds in from of the peloton led by Bouhanni. Jauregui takes 2nd and Vorckler 3rd.
With bonuses, Roux must be the overall favourite. On the tt he will be a good bet for top 5 and he can possibly win it and he is not too bad on tje hills. You never know with Voeckler, though.
