Lesser Known Road Racing for Women Thread

Sadly, playing dot-to-dot between councils willing to pay and paying absolutely zero attention to the topography and what lies within those council areas in order to minimise the opportunities available is not just par for the course for the TOBW and its predecessor, it's virtually its trademark.

Then you wouldn't be surprised to learn alot of the faces behind the scenes are the same...

Now we just have to hope we don't get a 2014 or 2018 re-run where the GC winner can come from the péloton on time bonuses. Hopefully the circuit tomorrow or maybe in Glasgow (looks easier than the Worlds circuit unfortunately) can break things up so that Little Miss Contract Law has to at least leave the safe clutches of the péloton if she wants to get past KLCDBP, unlike when Rivera managed to win both the GC and the metas volantes competition without leaving the bunch once. Tomorrow's finish should hopefully suit the Mauritian too.

I love it when the winner comes from a break! Congrats ladies!

Did Faulkner's chain come off after the sprint? If so that is really lucky that it didn't come off during the sprint!
Can happen in a sprint post finish, its the momentum thingy and sudden not pedallingness it just whips round and jumps off. Wouldn't have happened during the sprint because the load was still there

There's a slow mo video of Cavs last TdF stage win online, sorry cant find it, showing the same thing.

Yes, especially wound up on a tiny cog. That fn 'momentum thingy' + 'not pedallingness'! :D Love it!

When I first saw it (I still haven't found a great replay view) it looked like it was on a pedal stroke after the line, but in the above shot it seems to be after she stopped pedaling.

Ok Stage 2 ToBW preview Hartlepool to Saltburn by sea. Alot of the race previews have claimed this as the Queen stage of the race, even though stage 3 is technically longer in km.

but 114.3km of racing, and the finishing circuit is the same as has been used for British nationals the past 2 years, that climb at the end is a real kicker.
