I don't hate him, but as a rider I don't understand him. If he was a bit more aware of his talents and strengths he could have won Tour 07 (maybe), and Vuelta 08 (definitely) I remember him wheel-sucking Sastre on Angrilu I think. He, Contador, and Mosquera dropped Sastre, he than dropped from those two, waited for Sastre, road behind him until he sucked his rear tire dry, and than he went away from him and lost Vuelta for 21 sec. Stupid waste of talent, that is how I see him.

Vai Cunego!!!

ps. I may have used wrong years but you get the picture

Why is he refered to as "bottle" ? Because he always "bottles it" in big races?

A million times? Hmmm - well, it is a known fact that baboons and apes can count to three. But not to 4.

2nd greatest race ever????? Hmmmm - I see. Maybe the 2nd greatest hype ever.

Imho - it was a very good race in February. They should leave it there. It is not even a good race when competing with the Giro - but it has the old USA hype machine behind it. Which does count for something - but not in my book.

I guess whilst you were researching the math habits of Baboons and Apes you overlooked the sarcasm trait in Humans.

I doubt Levi will win, but part of me is hoping for it just to see the weeping and gnashing of teeth here. ;)

+1

I have no problem if he wins. So what you will, he did a good job yesterday.
Everyone was following until 2-3km anyway, why should levi pull for the leader. Would rather see cunego or one of the dutch guys take it tho.

i certainly hope and think cunego will manage to hold bottle off.

still while mollema performance has been good. most times we see him he is suffering at the back. he seems to be on the right path to be in top shape for the tour. but would be weird to see him win. would be one of those silent killer type of wins :p
I can't help hoping that Diamiano do well enough tomorrow and manage to pick up a few seconds on his rivals to even up his chance to retain the overall even after the ITT. Hopefully Leipheimer has to attack at one point and we all know that is not his style. Today was a rare exeption

For me, the only positive that will come from LL winning the TdS is that it will mess up The Shack's TdF strategy a bit. They are already going in with 4 co-leaders, and LL will have more ambition heading into France with a TdS win. Instead of finding out very early that LL shouldn't receive top billing, Bruyneel will have to juggle some egos for a bit.

LL *should* be a superdomestique to Horner this year, with Kloden as backup plan number one. I doubt that would sit well with him if he is coming off a win in Switzerland.

Yes, everybody was sitting in until late but here's the issue with LL as I see it: he waited until Cunego started the action before he did anything. There were guys ahead of him on GC who were falling off or were about to. A guy ahead of him on GC was up the road. yet he still wouldn't do anything except sit on.

He didn't need to pull for Cunego. He needed to pull for himself and he still wouldn't do it. Instead of picking off the guys ahead of him one by one, he seemingly calculates what time he can take out of them in the TT and races accordingly.

To be fair, he may have been at his limit, but his strength in finishing 2nd belies that claim. He rides so unbelievably defensively at all times that it is irritating (that's a bit strong) to watch.

Let's stick with TGBM as it's a running forum joke. All the new ones simply ain't funny anymore.

I hope the little prince will hold on to the jersey in the TT for sure. Or Mollema ofcourse, but that's unlikely.

if damiano keeps liepo within a minute going into the itt -which is more than realistic after today's mtf - he'll win the gc.

i see 2 factors in his favour, (i) he aint a terrible tter particularly in the longish ones (ii) the itt course is NOT flat but rather lumpy. liepo's diesel likes flat and staying in the same rhythm. damiano likes lumpy as a more explosive rider.

sorry, i don't see damiano losing the gc if he's not impoding in these 2 days.
