Are you kidding me? You mean you don't know about As the Toto Turns? I believe this episode is the genesis of "Bottle". http://nyvelocity.com/content/toto/2009/toto-turns-118.happychappy said:Why is he refered to as "bottle" ? Because he always "bottles it" in big races?
Timmy-loves-Rabo said:it's actually BMC's Abnormal Matthias Frank
asin a bmc rider who can actually go uphill.

i dont like watching leipheimer either, but im far from calling him dwarf or parasite, maybe thats just me bein positive person - i appreciate that there is a guy who is not as good as others but still can keep up with them
i think that there are smart and entertaining things u can do as a professional cyclists - smart things will give u results, entertaining things will give u praise of ppl, very few cyclists can combine both
tldr : i dont like leipheimers style, but i dont think he is devious parasite as a person, certainly not more than others
edit: when wiggins won DL there wasnt a thread about him being parasite or about his awful racing style and as far as i remember wiggins have never ever ever attacked anyone - so why is this double standard goin on here on forums?
Angliru said:I recall a Wiggins attack in the 2009 Tour, although it was so anemic that he appeared to be riding in sand, simply spinning away but unable to build much of a gap before being quickly reeled back in. That is the only one that I can recall.
taiwan said:If this case against Leipheimer is based on [matters discussed in the clinic], then make it in the clinic. This thread just reads like people frothing at the mouth over his (common) riding style.
Mrs John Murphy said:As I said at the very start of the thread (not that the teenagers seem to have read it). There are lots of reasons for disliking the PD, some are clinic related, some are stylistic, some are to do with his personality. He is the kind of rider you can dislike on multiple levels.
I linked to the thread in the clinic because it is not just about his doping but also about his reputation among people who rode with him in his amateur days.
Here's the thing - he can win the ITT but it won't change the fact that he is a negative, boring cynical **** who sucks wheels.
Did the little **** manage any attacks today, cos I certainly didn't see any from him?
taiwan said:My point about Cunego was that in his position he doesn't need to attack, he needs to mark, and that's what he did. Seems you don't have much to say without referring to the clinic thread, so yes, might as well stfu here, I agree. Negative racing is what you see most riders doing most of the time. You minimise your efforts. Occasionally the tag can be applied to a rider you don't like, and you have an instant bandwagon.
Nicoper said:I don't hate him, but as a rider I don't understand him. If he was a bit more aware of his talents and strengths he could have won Tour 07 (maybe), and Vuelta 08 (definitely) I remember him wheel-sucking Sastre on Angrilu I think. He, Contador, and Mosquera dropped Sastre, he than dropped from those two, waited for Sastre, road behind him until he sucked his rear tire dry, and than he went away from him and lost Vuelta for 21 sec. Stupid waste of talent, that is how I see him.
Vai Cunego!!!
ps. I may have used wrong years but you get the picture
