You cannot tell me that if you drill it into the Stockeau before that sharp corner then drill the Stockeau you can't delete 70% of the peloton and make LBL a loooot easier for you if you have numbers but no huge favorite.

Even now, a team really pulling up the haute levee afterwards would drop a lot of the peloton but nobody is willing to do so yet

Yeah it's a little sad to see the hardest part of the route so neutralized.

The road from Stavelot to Aywalle is a deathtrap for this race.

Dreadful race so far. This is a race every year that should be great but rarely is due to timid racing.

In one of the hardest extended stretches of the race the peloton has taken a whole 25 seconds out of a tired break of nobodies...
And that is quite reasonable. Most of the favourites and most of the strongest teams will not really improve their chances with another tactic (in this given racing equilibrium).

No matter how slow they go here, the race is still plenty hard and selective enough in the end for them.
