I think this will end up a dress rehearsal ITT in prep for the Giro for Rem. It's just a matter of what distance he fancies to go for. Really hope some other riders try to make a race of it, and not everybody just look at each other and decide to let him go.
That's what they always do. Decide to let him go. I remember last year in San Sebastian, Yates was in his wheel and suddenly, out of the blue, decided to let him go. At LBL as well, Powless is in his wheel and suddenly decides to let him go. Skujins at San Sebastian also decided to let him go. Lutsenko and the rest of that group at the WCC... I think he hypnotises them, because i can't come up with a different explanation for it.

This. The only way for Remco to truly 'win' today is to make a massive statement, just crush the field. It's the only way he can show that he would have been Pogacar's match today; if he's got the legs it won't matter if they want to make a game of it or not.

The mistake last year wasn't Powless not being able to follow the attack, it was the rest of the peloton allowing Quickstep to set up the attack in such a predictable way. It wasn't exactly a surprise attack.

San Sebastian last year and (maybe) LBL were won on power, but we must be in a weak era of cycling if the other favorites that let him go in his biggest races were Toms Skujins and Alexey Lutsenko.
