Astana the team which least wants a sprint now in perfect position to control the race. What on earth were they doing so far?

Sagan's bid doesn't seem so farfetched, had he been typical Sagan in 2019

Was thinking the same - a top form Sagan would still be (perhaps even sitting comfortably) in the peloton. Fuglsang won't win today, he should have attacked a lot earlier. It is too late for him now.

Dno who to solve Liege. Maybe ditch Roche or make a route that's not including Redoute in some way to mix things up.
Ofcourse the solution is to ditch RaF.

I'd love to see the section before La Redoute be made harder. Maybe take a few of the early hills out.
The big Problem of this race is it's name. There are plenty hard climbs around La Redoute but because the race has to go all the way to bastogne and back they have to take a relatively straight forward route. Therefore the section before la redoute is way too easy and attacking there is suicide. Ditching RaF would clearly help but it's not as simple as that.
You can just move the start. It's not like Paris-Roubaix starts in Paris.

Astana with 5 guys on the pointy end coming to the bottom of RaF. If only they'd gone on the front earlier, they might have been able to get Fuglsang clear. Can't see him being let go now though.

What sort of a detour was that Astana rider taking?
He wanted a Beer at the Mery Pub (that was the Beer garden where some of us gathered in 2012). But he was a couple of years late as it has closed.

Fuglsang has to go early they told me.

Alaphilippe would never drop on the RaF they told me.
