Again saying Movistar are a new team! New sponsor doesn't equal a new team! They've been around since the 80's :s

Sherwen: "Christopher Riblon is the most experimented rider of the front group"

He must be listening to a French comemntary or reading from something written in French. "Experimenté" in French means experienced.

Describing some baths being shown on the coverage, to the effect of:
"... built between 1817 and 1823... official historic monument... they haven't been changed in 200 years"
Arithmetic apparently not his strong suit either.

He also referred to them as Roman Baths, but maybe that's a functional or decorative style and was actually "roman baths" so I'll give them a meh on that.

I can't remember his exact words but while Wiggins was down injured he explained that the two most common injuries for cyclists were a broken collar bone and one of the small bones in the wrist, the scapula.
I like it.

No one could ride on 70psi. You'd fall off at that pressure!
Why would you fall off? Still plenty of air between your rim and your tyre. A little less than ideal but certainly not dangerously low.

Not to mention the same posters criticising the language of Phil and Paul strangling nouns into verbs with the likes of fixated and podiumed. Glass houses.

Give Phil and Paul a break - they do a fantastic job (and i wasn't paid very much to say that).

Sherwen's patter is brutally repetitive but never tiresome to my ear:

"he's playing a waiting game, Phil…"

"When you see the field strung out like that it's a good indicator that the screws are being tightened"

Phil Liggett quote of the day

When Lars Boom attacked off the front on stage 11 with 5km to go:

"He can do it. He's the time trial champion of Holland. He's also terrific against the watch".

It's funny, but a whole thread for this?

Yesterday was a whole year to the day since he made his famous "Samuel Sanchez cant descend" comment.

I wonder what we get on the first mountain stage of this years Tour.

"And theres Robert Gesink from the Leopard Saxobank squad. Hes a pretty bad climber so he has to make up time on the descent"

The other day Phil or Paul stated that Luis Leon Sanchez was one of the best descenders in the world. 15 minutes later when Voeckler attacked on the downhill they said LLS struggled on the downhills.

The posts below are good examples of why we have this thread. Downright funny! :D

...Tho could prolly be merged with the Liggettisms thread. Either way it's a good laugh.
